I think the DoF is just a bit too thin here, really. There's also a blue colour cast to the image that can be easily removed in post.

Fresh frost and ice crystals looks great. I would like a bit more DOF in there as the detail is lost in that bokeh.

A lot of the image has been lost to the bokeh and there is a blue cast over the image with for me reduces its freshness.

Can't say it really shouts 'Fresh' to me? The composition doesn't do that much for me - I find myself focussing on the hands, which have quite a strong highlight from the gloves.

An interesting take on this months theme and all the better for it. Good exposure and the colourful circular curry pots lead you into the image nicely.

I really like the image and composition but I am not totally convinced it says fresh.

Could be easily improved for me by the removal of a few distracting elements - i.e. twigs. It might also make a more interesting photo from ground level. You're also clipping the whites of the flowers.

It's a good idea but the final image is very cluttered with the light quite flat. Shoot low with small objects, shoot early or late for the golden light and get in close to fill the frame.

There is way too much going on here, the image needs recomposing from a lower level with a much tighter crop on the flowers.

It's nice - good lighting against the background - but I'm not sold on the composition. I feel it could be cropped (or taken originally) in a more interesting way.

A pretty shot and pleasing to the eye. DOF is verging on the narrow for me but the centre of the flower is sharp.

I feel the image could be cropped a little tighter around the flower and I think you could open up the DOF as the foreground petal tips feel awkward lost in the bokeh.

Interesting take on the theme that works well. Shame about the brown/black thing sticking into the right of the frame - not too much effort to crop that out, is it?

A very simple shot with not much I can comment on. Always ask yourself if there is enough interest in the image to keep the viewer coming back for more.

A super simple image; the only minor spoiler being the black splodge to the right.

Relatively predictable shot, but not badly executed. Depending on what you were using for a tank, it might have been more interesting from the side, though.

Congrats on getting loads of colour and impact into your shot. The shallow container and ripples really enhance the effect. Great shot.

What i expected to see for the theme and has been done well although a different angle of approach would give a better image and more velocity to the water impact

I'm not really sure what you want us to be looking at in the frame? There doesn't seem to me to be an obvious focal point.

Exposure is good and you have interesting shapes in the ice but the overall image is quite plain. Think about pushing it further with a 1/5 shutter speed to get some silky water textures in there.

The ice and water have a nice silky look but there is not a lot in the image that gives an overly strong focal point.

Yeah, I suppose that's 'Fresh'. Nothing really to fault with it.

A very tender capture and the tight composition works well here. Well done.

The composition is working really well here and the image tones are just right well done.

Could be advertising Sprite or something. Like it.

Lots of movement, colour and light all helping to make a great abstract image. Unorthodox shot though as traditionally it's taken at 90 degrees to the water not above.

It could be an advertisement for “Fresh” spot on!

The composition is a little basic to really give the image any real impact. There's quite a blue tinge to the image, as well.

Bags of colour here and good work for getting outdoors for the comp, be careful with the framing though as you subject feels cramped in the frame.

There is not a lot here that is appealing to me it feels more snapped than composed.

Simple, but quite interesting in its own way.

As B&W really emphasises graphic elements in an image, textures and tone. I don't believe your choice of technique works well with the theme.

For the this theme colour really helps to portray the fresh aspect the apple should be crisp and green not BW.

The window in the background really spoils this. Half of the image is blown out.

Pleasing to the eye with lots of detail in the leaves. I'd have liked to see you move closer to make full use of that window in the background so we didn't see the inside walls in the final image.

The background is overpowering the frame, you need to move in closer and get the white balance right as a lot of the shot is blown out.

Wedge
I like it, but feel it would have been more effective with a black background - that way we would have seen the drip more clearly (with the correct lighting).

A classic done well is always going to look great and this is the proof. Great shot.

A good shot and spot on for the theme even though th background makes it difficult to read the drip clearly.

You could have chosen a nicer strawberry - it's all manky on the bottom! Other than that, good colours and lighting.

Great exposure overall but the composition lets you down. Those strawberries should be sitting up proudly, green tops looking healthy and contrasting with the red for impact.

Your strawberry has a bad bit and with them sat flat in a puddle of water the image loses its sleek advertisement styling.

Dont wholely agree with judges this month, but i now its subjective.

Woooo a 50+ for the start to the year - things can only get better (not!). Twas a simple shot but worked well. Can't fault GSXR at all - brilliant shot and well done mate, saw it pop on flickr and thought "You bugger you've won already :mad:" ;)

Thanks. Wasn't too sure at first when I was in the bathroom creating whirlpools in the bath and dropping fruit into it but paid off after the post processing. Tempted to put up the original image for comparison, worrying how bad that looked.
