that's a great shot morgan, will be hard to beat that one :)

He's probably not going to accept my opinion but I don't like it. It focuses on the back of the guys head more than anything in the shot. It would be better if the woman's face was in focus imho. Its just the first thing you really focus on is the guys slightly curled hair. Just doesn't work for me. Hopefully someone else thinks the same so it doesn't seem like its just me having a pop at him :)

I agree to an extent. The DoF is too shallow really, but the picture does communicate emotion more effectively than the other pictures so far. Lets see what happens eh? :)

I'll add my 2 p's worth, sorry morgan. Nice idea but it doesn't work.

like others have said, DOF is too shallow, focus is wrong, composition is too far to the left. Also the photo is a bit flat, the lighting is off, which makes the contrast a bit weak too.

and I went for the shot I did. I just like it. It may not be good technically but it was a very special moment. The focus is actually on the ring. Obviously during the dance it is very hard to imagine the shot, focus, recompose and shoot all in such a small amount of time. If I hadnt pressed the shutter the moment would have passed.

critsim isnt having a pop. terras is the winner for me. sex sells and they are great cans :)

Ouch! all construstive critism though so thanks.

Just had a look at your shot. The focus is off on the bacon at the front of the plate, I might also add that you have blown the highlights on the furthest sausage from the camera. Also if you had used the rule of thirds to get the egg slightly more to the right of the frame you would gain more impact ;) :D

The focus is actually on the ring.

Going by the title of the picture you mention 'totally in love'. The first thing that came to my mind was is she in love with the ring or him? I think to display the 'totally in love' feeling the focos should have been in the area that their eyes seem to be gazing at eachother, just that little square and apply the DOF around it.

However I do totally agree with you how you need to set everything up. But in these scenarios the AV Priority Mode should come in handy. Setting a stop of 5.6 or lower will help loads with the DOF.

Nice try all the same. Glad you entered the compition.

King.

Ok mine is up. It's of a mate that has just got smacked in the lower regions by a foot ball. Can't more emotional and painful than that :p
