It's very atmospheric, though I'm not entirely sure what the subject matter is. I find the light at the end of the alley quite distracting, and would probably shop that out myself.

Lots of negative space and interesting clutter here. I feel the light at the end of the hall is distracting though.

A nice shot for the theme the only comment is that the light at the end of the corridor gives little intruige and so is distracting from the darkness.

What are you wanting us to take away from this image? I'm getting a parking sign and a bit of car roof in the foreground.

A tale of two images here. The top 1/3 through the fenceline is brooding and has lots of atmosphere. The bottom 2/3 is plain and almost abstract. Overall it's confused unfortunately.

The background holds more interest than the foreground, but I do like the overall grittiness of it all.

Dinomania
Quite a nice scene for the photo, but I can't say it grabs me. I do like the very isolated feel that the dark gives, though - you've nailed that.

Very sharp image with a great focal point. Well done.

This works really well for theme, the enclosure of the darkness isolates the focal point nicely.

Docaroo
Good fun image and nice relevance to the theme. It's not going to astound technically or artistically, though …

A great image overall. A pity it's soft in focus though.

A fun image that is a great idea for the theme just a shame it is not in focus.

Dunky
Not really doing it for me. There's nothing at the other end of the bridge to keep our attention and the bridge itself, whilst very blue, would not make me want to put this on my wall.

Lots of colour, light and texture here. I'd edit out the two white lights on the right though as they distract the eye.

A nice shot overall but the bright white of the station lights is ditracting from the overall darkness.

It's OK, but I can’t help but feel for a photo of the church, there's a lot of tree in the frame, and for a photo of a tree, there's a church sticking out the top. They don't work together in this composition.

I find the moon/light very distracting and as the building is lit changing the composition to hide it would make a better choice.

Its difficult to dig out the focal point, is it the tree or the church either way they are creating a negatice composition upon one another.

No real context for what we're looking at in the image. What are you wanting us to take away?

A good take on the theme showing promise with light and texture. A pity you are losing lots of impact by having only part of the face showing.

Its a nice shot with good lighting and texture to the BW but the lack of context lets it down.

Good portrait - simple but well lit. Like the quirky take on the theme.

Strong pose and composition in your image. A perfect fit for the theme on many levels.

A fantastic portrait, you have captured the subject and theme really well.

Very empty, but it works well.

Very graphic and the simple elements work well together. I like it.

Simple and effective good composition and lighting for the theme choice, would just prefer to see a more interesting bridge.

Not really seeing your link to the theme coming across here. Your sensor appear to have some hot pixels, as well, which you might want to fix in the future. I do like it as a landscape, though for that perhaps the sun is a bit high in the frame.

An interesting take on the theme. It works but lacks impact to keep me coming back for more.

Its a bit btight for the theme of dark even still it is a very atmospheric picture, I thought my screen was on the blink but it seems you have some hot pixels on your sensor.

Interesting, but the lit arch ends up feeling rather disembodied.

The image lacks a focus point. It's quite surreal in it's elements but has little impact for me.

For the theme it works well but as an overall image it is lacking any real focus.

It's obviously taken after dark, but it's not shouting 'dark' to me. The buildings on the left also make it somewhat unbalanced.

A nice long exposure with leading lines drawing through the image. There is not much to keep you coming back in terms of impact though.

Even though it is a nice image its not really dark.

Seraph
Whatever it is that you've got in the foreground there really kills the shot, I'm afraid. In the future we could also do with a larger image for the marking.

I think the framing could be much improved with the moon crescent forming a larger element in the image.

The foreground is clipping the main focus and the telephone pole is even more distracting overall it isnot working to well.

An idea for the theme that I'm surprised didn't come up more. Perhaps a slightly wider view to get a bit more smoke in it?

A good idea but perhaps less smoke overall would form a cleaner and stronger image.

A little PP helps the image mainly just to clone out some of the smoke in the background.

Wedge
Nice photo and well lit. Like it.

Great tone and texture with the separation of subject and background handled expertly.

This works really well for theme, the lighting creates great highlights across the skin and teh dark shadows maintain intrigue.
