Chucked an entry up. I've recently bought a 'new' DSLR after being out of the comp for a couple of years and fancied a bash. I used a fantastic manual AI Vivitar 70-210mm f/3.5 Series 1 in macro mode for the shot. Very sharp lens stopped down, and very good wide open too. Just a PITA to use without any metering!

Really been struggling with this retro theme, have managed to put something together but may try some alternatives this evening. And there's me think photography was meant to be my relaxing hobby.

. I actually modded and took a whole reel of shots with a 50s box camera, but I didn't cover up the rear window properly so all of the shots are burnt. The film also folded inside the canister so scratched all the way down the middle. Anyway, seeing as I couldn't use the film as intended I figured I may as well use it as the subject

Whipped out an old light tent with a desk light at the end and put some reflective card underneath. Quite happy with the end result!

Totally not the shot I was after but weather was not my friend this time around nor was the security guard that threw me out from around the Hayward Gallery on southbank... to his credit he did give me 10 mins to tidy up and finish off... just not enough really. This was a rush job done about an hour ago...

and yes I'm afraid I've fallen back on my old floaty trick...

Thanks guys to be honest I forgot all about the competition and had a shoot last week in my studio and came up with that shot and then someone commented on it on Facebook and said it was very retro and then I remembered the comp and thought I would enter it.

I really love GSXRMovistar Donkey Kong image and the vintage feel.
