Since we are making requests then, can the "Posting images" bit in the FAQ be moved to the actual rule section, as I never saw it before in the board usage section.

And whilst we're at it

"Unless otherwise agreed by the moderation team, images must no wider than 1024 pixels wide."

Fix it so it says

"Unless otherwise agreed by the moderation team, images must be no wider than 1024 pixels wide."

:p

But how many threads have massive pictures?, if it's a one off i don't think members should be castrated for it.

The spoiler tag rule for large images so far is looking the best way forward i feel

What's the need for bigger pictures than 1024 anyways unless in a thread specific for it like photography ones or pc high res section where it's allowed? If you allow it then people will start going daft and make a lot of threads a pain to read. Mod's have the rule for a reason.

Does iOS not automatically adjust images to suit?

That seems a bit ****, Android will just scale large images to suit, works brilliantly.

I wondered why people moaned about big images viewed on mobile devices, no wonder if Apple devices handle them so appallingly.
I would be more worryed about how my data connection on my android mobile phone would handle them ;)

Respect people with smaller screens and smaller bandwidth.

With that argument I could say I only run at 800x600, and thus images should be less than 800px wide.

Should people respect that? Not really, at some point you have to adapt and move on.

What's the need for bigger pictures than 1024...

I posted some high resolution images that had been released for the upcoming game Company of Heroes 2, in a thread titled that. I don't want to have to resize nice 1920 x 1080 images to 1024 which just wouldn't do the screenshots justice.

Why can't you just link to your large images?

Because it's more of a hindrance to get everyone in the thread to have to click on the 5-10 images, when the OP could just post them inline, saving everyone time.

Spot on

I don't understand why people with 1920x1200 or less on a single monitor would want to view images wider than 1024x in the forum as it breaks the display and it's frustrating, frankly. We have always been able to post links to pictures with the with a higher res so I don't really see what the issue is here. Only a small percentage of the forum users have a single monitor with a resolution over 1920x1200 so until that changes I don't see a need to change any rules.
