Anyone else having trouble with these cards? I have just received two that were faulty on arrival in the space of a week. The symptoms are artefacts on the boot screens and desktop with corrupted icons and the monitor either flashes on and off or just goes blank with the "No Signal" message. I am in the process of RMA'ing the second one back and really want a refund as I don't trust this make and model anymore.

I put my old 5700 ultra back in the same machine running on the same driver (84.21) and the PC starts up and runs fine. PSU is a new Sparkle FSP 600w. I tried the drivers on the CD (beta 82.12) that come with the 6800 GS too and still get the same artefacting.

Just wondering if they are a bad batch of cards.

If it was the OCUK Own brand then my 1st one was faulty(same fault). Took it back and swapped it for a bfg 7800gs and never looked back.

Meatloaf - Yes I tried it in my spare machine and I get the same artefacts on boot and the desktop. The graphics card is faulty and has been RMA'd back today for a refund.

I will look at a 7800 GS next as a browse of the net with google shows that there are many problems with the 6800 GS series generally.

I got one of these from ocuk's B-Grade section, it unlocked great and played oblivion for about seven hours then I wondered why it was there... turns out its missing the thermal pads on the little heatsink that cools the power chips on there, so I can see why it was returned, may have done similar stuff to what your one did and probably would've killed it within a week :(
