The game is Texas Hold 'Em: No Limit Tournament. The blinds start at 15/30 and will increase ever 10mins. The games often don't last any longer than 2.5hrs. A maximum of 2000 players can take part in an evening's game.
When:
Games are on a Sunday evening usually at 8:30pm.
Where:
We have moved again. This time due to randomers getting into the game. We have moved to Poker Stars. It's free to sign up and if you head over to the home games you'll find the OCUK game. Registration is subject to my approval.
Why:
For the fun and the winner of the league will receive the coveted OcUK Poker Champ signature.
Who:
This is open to anyone from OcUK. Last year we had a player invite some people from another forum. This isn't a problem so long as they join OcUK then they can play.
How:
Just sign up to Poker Stars and then look in the Home Games for the table. Once you request you join the league, I'll approve your membership. Take note that why you have joined the league on Poker Stars you still need to register for the table each week.

Additional information:
I'm thinking about running the Ocuk Poker League twice a year and I'm looking to improve on the competition. For the past few years, it's been played over 12 weeks from Jan - March with 10 points for a win and 1 for 10th place, and 1 point for attendance. This has provided some close competition in the past but it has been criticised that people who can't play as often are losing out. A suggest was made in last year's thread and I've done a bit of thinking about it and I feel it could work. This is what I propose:
I was thinking of running it over two 12-week groups (Jan-March and Sept-Dec) and having the same the points structure but also have 4 games (4th and 8th week) that are worth more than the rest of them to allow those that can't attend as often a crack at the points. There would be a normal league table but also a ranking system where the last 2 years worth of scores are kept and the average number of points across the number of played matches determines those standings. For those of you that follow golf you may recognise that this is very similar to that of the PGA/Euro tour and world rankings.
I feel that this system might be a bit fairer than the past, however one could argue that having a few games worth more will be advantageous to those that already have a healthy lead, but it's up to them to play should they wish.
I have compiled a ranking based on the 2010 and 2011 results, can you look and see if your name appears twice. I know that we have had to change software several times and usernames have changed so if you spot yourself under to different names please let me know - it will be beneficial for you.
So please let me know what you think and we can think about hosting a round over the next 12 weeks (Sept - Dec). We have already crowed this year's champion so while it wouldn't be for the 2011 title these points could go towards the rankings.
Regards,
Blackvault
