updated first post....

theres a worried part of me that thinks we might actually get all the cars turning up !!

a quick reminder

DO NOT park in the main car park compound for powerstation UNLESS you are running. After you have done your run, if we are really short of space I might ask you to park outside of the fenced area. Please park in a sensible fashion outside the compound so we can all get rolling nice and smoothly on the way out.

quick note to everyone: i've noticed that on the past meets there's been a fair bit of shuffling about, so if everyone parks the right way around (i.e reversing into a space, poser stylee :p) then everyone can leave in order, instead of everyone rushing out :)

quite, if someone could get me a decent quality google earth overhead view of the place, ill show what I need doing

oh, and how could I forget

PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARRIVE BY 9AM IF YOU INTEND TO RUN YOUR CAR

No doubt i'll be able to organise things so you can run if you arrive later, but its a bloody pain sorting things out with people arriving as early as 8:30 and as late as 10:30.

Gareth - any chance of incorporating the Hillclimb into the route?

route will be the same as last time as its so dam easy, thats got a hill on it...

im not gonna try and plan some wonderful route with potentially 25-30 cars trying to follow, we lost people last time when I handed out directions for gods sake !

oh... and I dont own a diesel now so ..er... no :p

Can I chav around in the carpark, do burnouts and listen to Jay-Z?

like last time?

I love that hill climb :D just before the pub in it?

indeed... personally I prefer coming down it (the dual carridgeway seems to be slightly down hill all the way after the very bottom, right to the motorway junction when it goes up before the roundabout... nearly had the puma off the clock doing that run after poker last week !

Dropped a bit of a hint actually anyway, Romans have the "other" car on their site atm since its from them.

I wonder what it could be ... ;) has it arrived yet mate?

I guess we're fortunate that Conanius is a personal friend :p I don't think he'll make this page vanish whilst we sleep.

oh, think your above the law of my thread now eh !....

....dibs on a shotgun ride on the new motor should solve this situation :D

-westy's- convinced me to run the 700hp Mondeo I own. So I, well, guess I'm sorta kinda requesting to be put on the list

So...

PMKeates (Sam Keates), 98 Ford Mondeo 2.0L Ghia, Yes

Mr Keates sir, ive added you to the list, but I should now note, im getting requests from non OCUK'ers to run !

PLEASE let me make this clear, there are only 30 spaces, and we currently have over 30 runners, if on the day everyone turns up (christ, that'd be a first) people will have to drop out.

-westy- said:
Well, as much as i'd liek to run my car, i'll happily volunteer to drop out, saves me some cash :)

westy, best to wait till the day mate, you know as well as I do, if we get close to 20 people turning up, let alone running ill be in absolute awe...

incidentally, its a bloody good job theres a 30 car limit, else id be screwed at the bar after !

all,

just a quick bump to get people realising its only 1 week away !!

if you are in the list of runners, and can now no longer make it, please say so asap.

Many Thanks

not shocked to see a few people having difficulty now its drawing near !

all those who have switched to maybes, try your best to attend

as for those droppingout, cheers for the message, I dont mind people dropping out with notice, but when they just dont turn up... *sigh*

updating first post in a minute

is there a prize for most horses?

[small](that was most not moist)[/small]

yes, everyone being chuffed with you....

Ive just gone and updated the first post, and OMG at the potential that we might actually have quite a lot of people going !

25 people have confirmed they will definately attend and run, which is absolutely fantastic.

Im going to approach the drivers of the more special (no offence to the others) cars and try and ensure they run near the end so late arriving spectators get a viewing of them.

I MUST state to all those running PLEASE turn up on time, im trying to plan out a running order at the moment, and late arrivals will be a pain,

ALL THOSE NOT RUNNING - Yet again I have to say it :p DO NOT park inside the fenced area in powerstation, this is reserved for runners to ensure they dont have to walk far to get their cars

ALL ATTENDING - try and keep any messing around to a minimum, Im the one who gets the flack when people mess around, so handbrake turns, rolling burnouts, etc are not appreciated

ALL RUNNING - pretty obvious, but you run at your own risk, if anything does go pop (oh will...) I am in no way accountable.

ALL... have a dam good time !

Right, I have decided I going to come and be a spectator, as Fox rightly put it, it won't exactly break the bank to get there.

It's shaping up to b a great day, I don't want to miss it :)

good lad, if you feel flush on the day, and there is space, would eb great to get the rex on the rollers

OMG PUB DIRECTIONS !

Firstly, Leave Powerstation, turning left, and going over the traffic light controlled hump back bridge, we wont all get over in one go, so expect a split to occur here..

Go over the mini roundabout (ideally not literally, and get in the right hand lane at the traffic lights.

Turn right, heading toward the m5

At the major roundabout, take the first exit, signposted M5 Southbound

Ideally, if we try and keep the speed down, anyone who gets left behind can catch up, just look out for the long queue of cars with a puma at the front

Exit the M5 on junction 11a, signposted Cirencester

Enter the A road dual carridge way and continue on, be careful of the bridges however as scamera vans have been known to park on them

Proceed up the hill (careful of slow lorries) and eventually reach the roundabout at the top, be in the left hand lane at this point.

Take the first exit, (literally straight on) and head straight on

Follow this lane for about 3 miles, and we will be at the pub, Its called the severn springs (Hungry Horse) and is on the right hand side after a long dip, if you go too far you will come to a roundabout about 400 yards after the turning, do a simple u turn and get back to the pub with it being the first on the left.

Enter the pub carpark, and park in the furthest space away, to ensure everyone can easily get in.

If you are a runner, please ensure you tell me at powerstation what drink you want, and ill get them in waiting for you for when you arrive at the bar.

Please print these out. I'll bring a few copies on the day, but would be better if people could bring these themselves

Please note Motorway route to Pub. This is becuase Conanius sucks at the twistys.

erm.

If you care to remember the last RR, I had planned a pro back road route, but people cried because of getting split up, thus we used the motorway. same applies :p

as for the caravan turn over, I escorted a few of the guys down the backroads to tewkesbury so they could get on, happy to repeat if anything similar happens
