See you used hand brake too to prepare the car, guys were suggesting this to me today, not something I bothered with though as I'd probably just burn my clutch up lol.
It's something I've always done when sprinting, slightly different discipline though as reaction times are irrelevant so there's no need to hold high revs waiting for the lights plus the beam setup isn't as sophisticated as we only have a single beam and I'm generally trying to start as far behind it as I can get away with![]()
1.9 60ft should be easy for the SMG I've now done it with a manual.
Two MX5s broke Halfshafts saturday (One "370bhp" and one with a 3UZ-FE)
The 370HP one wasn't the mental looking blue NB with white tyre lettering, big spoiler, fixed hard top, bonnet vents etc, owner by a guy called Taylor?
It ain't winning if it's broke. His car is definitely putting out the quoted figures, it's fully forged with some big Garrett on it. The dyno runs and the full engine build etc are on the Youtubes!
Shame he broke it lol![]()
Sub 12?Yes but SMG is not like a traditional auto where you just floor it, do that and it will just to a big burnout or break itself on drag strip. Either just ease it, give it a kick and then power or try LC, people say LC if it grips will launch hard and fast, but it can break a half shaft (rare) but if it does not grip it will like just wheelspin/hop and have to lift out. The easy part with SMG is changing gears, just pull paddles or hit the stick, but launching is not your typical auto stomp it affair, hence manual M3's at drag strip generally tend to post faster times, though its very rare an E46 goes sub 12's, even CSL's.![]()
Sub 12?
A few months back it wasn't forged and had some Chinese turbo on it. No clue what the power figures were back then though! It ain't winning if it's broke.
Tbf it was at pod a few months back and wasn't doing any better than high 13s iirc
120mph Gibbo. Ran an 11.9 at the end of the day.
510bhp and DSG for you! Believe he was launching in 2nd though. 1.9s 60fts I think?
