OCUK RWYB Drag Meet 3 - Saturday September 16th - Santa Pod Raceway

Enjoy the event guys. Out of curiosity I read the rules and this one gave me a  moment:
  • It sounds basic but it is mandatory that you have all of your wheel nuts on your wheels! Your car has been designed with 4 or 5 nuts for a reason and there is certainly no performance gain achieved by running with less so don’t try it or you will be turned away
What kind of idiot would even do that ? I feel there must be an entertaining back story here for it to have needed to go on the website.

@Frozennova can you put my friend down to run.

You'd be surprised at the lengths some people are willing to go to to save weight to go faster.

There was an E type at pod that actually sheared all of its wheel studs on the wheel as it launched at pod yesterday

I just turn the boost up and risk venting the block Instead :D I am putting it on a slightly diet for this one though

Yes please come this time without all that stuff you had us lugging around the Pod. ;)
Also remember the golden rule of drag racing, take a dump before setting off. :D

:D going to remove the spare and jack etc out of the boot to save you all, passenger seat is worth 15kg too so in going to pull that out the night before.

With that lot removed and a third of a tank of fuel then it'll tip the scales at just under 1000kg

Should be in the 12's on every run pretty much then, what you reckon you aiming for a 12.7-12.8?

Not sure whether to get the stage 2 map on this time round or wait until the next pod meet, just to see the time difference if any at all :-/.

12.7 isn't completely unreasonable. I'll be 20kg down on last time plus whatever power 0.5psi and a degree of timing gives me.

Main thing is consistency though. Im at the MX5 shootout two weeks later and want to be able to lay down passes all day in the 12s for that

Scared of breaking something that costs ££££ to fix! haha!

I can see me saying, I'll come but I won't be launching. And then I'll get suckered in on the day and will be side stepping the clutch at 6k.

That won't end well, lol

6k clutch drops are a standard day from Kosta. On your own doing a roadside clutch though, it was less hassle to pay someone to fit one in my dad's STI
