Just reading through the thread again and I totally understand the feeling of a kid at Christmas you're getting.
I really cannot wait to join up, so much so that I'm thinking about going for non-commissioned instead of my original plan to apply as an Officer. There are other reasons such as the fact that I don't feel confident that I'd pass selection, however the "I want in right now!" factor definitely plays a part...

Best of luck to you, joining the forces can be a very rewarding career if you put your mind to it, my Dad joined 24 years ago and picked up his Commission a few years back and is still serving to this day having just got back from Afghan. When I get done at uni I hope to join the Royal Signals as an officer.
