[OcUK Staff Builds] rjkoneill's TJ07

make it match the front of this...

i used heatshrink to keep mine in position ready to be plugged straight in

its EK

can be found on their website - its a new product

i ordered two - and a black mounting bracket for my EK supreme

it looks very nice in all black and a set of BP fittings pointing out of it :D

i need to find a nice looking way of mounting it [preferably black allen head bolts] as i dont really want to use the stock moutning kit as it looks a bit fail

a mounting kit like the heatkiller would look far better

no it wouldnt

the m3 ones would be brilliant if you dont mind - i havent even got a clue what to look for tbh

would they fit through a motherboard mounting hole?

I wanted them in series rather than for 2 loops and having the barbs facing each other was a problem... not impossible but a PITA

no problem - i have plenty of bitspower goodness to help route the tubing ;)
if it goes horribly wrong, i am holding you personally responsible :p

my cpu block is finally sorted!

i have removed the impingment plate as i tested it with and without and it
made little difference - hopefully it will keep the flowrate up in this large loop

pics added to the OP to keep it all in one place

pictures updated - bottom half of the case is all but finished and the motherboad is mounted on the tray :)

hope to have it close to finished tomorrow

Haha, spoil sport! :p

Looking like its all going together well :) Glad the screws fit alright too, definately look better against the black mounting bracket than silver ones would have

well im using a backplate from a coolit domino that got destroyed in transit at work, i took it home as i thought it would be useful for something and... it seemed to fit perfectly

i think EK should consider something similar as a stock solution for the supreme

its just a mockup over the socket protector at the moment as my chip is currently still in use, however it seems like just the perfect fit - thanks again mate for helping me out - you are a legend!!!

nope - i used double sided 3M tape

it leaves no residue when peeled off but is really sticky

the rads are in there as solid as if they were screwed in

plus i didnt fancy drilling the exterior of the case

Rich, can I ask, where did you get your PSU extensions from?
here
and
here

Only just saw this thread. must have missed it before.

Awesome read mate. And haven't you been busy rjkoneill? :D

:)

i have been busy :D
months of planning have gone into this build
planning stages were difficult as i had to work with measurements for things i didnt have with me - sketchup was useful for this

the biggest thing holding me back was waiting for components

its come together nicely though

i wanted a few things from it:
silence
performance
aesthetics

and looking at it built up, i have to say it lives up to what i wanted to achieve

still got a lot of bits to do
window mod on the side panel, possibly a ram cooler and i need to sort my storage out :rubs hands for SSD's:

Thats sweat mate.
But where are the hard drives? Or they yet to be slotted in?
Are you water cooling them to?!

i have my drives in the front at the moment, i am waiting for my ssd to arrive before i can get rid of one of my drives, i might even take out all the mechanical drives and put my data on a NAS as the Hdds are the only thing that makes noise

i need to sort my optical drive out as it just fails at the moment

Hope you meant sweet and not sweat! :)

This is a cracking build. Was the case painted or powder coated on the inside?

i painted it myself, two days of primer and a week of thin coats of matt black built up with 12hrs drying time between sprays

its turned out great and cost £12 to do the whole case

That looks great! Any word as to what kind of temps you are getting?

well, i havent had much time to actually use my system due to there being a lot to do at work and commitments in my free time

i did have a quick run through though
just running on my existing OS at the moment, going to hold out until Win7 gets released then reinstall on some SSDs

put the latest bios on the board and checked temperatures whilst leak testing

here is a shot of default temperatures
default.jpg

and a quick 4ghz clock using the settings i use for the OCUK 4GHz rampage bundle
4ghz.jpg

the cpu isnt much different to when i had just the cpu on a triple rad
the heat dump of the i7 is still massive

but NB/SB temps have gone from 55'C on stock cooling to 30'c in windows
4890s idle at 30'c, 45'c load

a big result

What are all the other components in this build rjkoneill?

Looks like an awesome build. Wish I had the money to do this. Looks very high quality =)

will do a components list soon as i get a lot of emails asking about certain bits etc

I'm not sure... you positive you've installed enough fans? :D

NEVER! - fans are the way forward!

its surprisingly quiet though :D

rjkoneill can you kick Tom up the ass and tell him to get in the
Bitspower 45 Degree Dual Rotary Extension preferably in Black sparkle and too also get on the new Matt black ones :)

Nice build by the way mate im currently building a similar rig but with a Quad and 2 x 240mm rads :)

And have you got the sketchup TJ07 as the only ones i can find are pooh.

Cheers

Ultim8

we have a load more BP on its way, i bought all the first shipment :D
tom is in the process of listing the hundreds of lines of WC that OcUK has now

its going to be pretty special when it goes live!

its best if i leave Yewen alone - i pester him enough :p

also you gonna get an mcubed for all them fans?

i dont know what that is?

all the fans in the top of the case run off the board and only spin up when it gets hot enough
the fans on the bottom are all on a sunbeam multifan all spinning at low RPM
it doesnt perform as well as if they were on 100%, but its very quiet

put my preorder in for my SSDs thisafternoon, finally getting rid of those noisy hard drives!

Amazing build you have there rjkoneill, please could you explain how you have incorporated two pumps into your loop as its something I would like to do in the future:)!

hi, and thanks
the loop goes like this:
Pump1
Mosfet1
Mosfet2
CPU
NB/SB
GPU1
GPU2
Reservoir
Pump2
Quad Radiator
Double Radiator

it works much better than i thought it would, temps are great when the fans are on full whack, but i keep them on low

Show off! :p

Id love to get an SSD just as a boot drive... maybe if I have a bit of cash left over after my next clearout I'll treat myself :p

2 of them in raid0 is gonna be nice and speedy though! :D

i was going to have some different drives, but to be honest i knew whatever else i got, i wouldnt be happy with and would still want the intels
