Ok so these aint cheap, but if you are planning on watercooling a Strix card then you are likely to be aware that the cards themselves are at the expensive end of the market.

Both 970 and 980 cards are best sellers at OcUK as you guys love your high end VGA so we have taken the opportunity to use the fantastic new custom blocks from EK to make a pretty special looking Tech Labs card in both varieties.

Each card comes with full warranty as well as a hand installed custom block and an option to add an EKWB backplate too.

At the moment, this is the Ultimate Tech Labs card in terms of overclocking capabilities and performance.

The OcUK Tech Lab H2O Custom GeForce Strix GTX 980 combines the most overclockable single GPU card available with the most effective cooling solution. You can expand your visual real estate across three HD displays in jawdropping 3D and experience immense framerates with blistering graphics.

With a choice of the finest cooling solutions from EK Water Blocks, this card looks incredible no matter what finish you choose.

Never has a pre built watercooled card been such a complete package!
All of this cooling power would be wasted without the addition of the worlds leading cooling paste, a retail tube of IC Diamond is included with this package. The paste is applied to the GPU to maintain supreme performance with the GPU block.

The 980 operates at extremely low temperatures and has massive overclocking headroom out of the box, but the addition of a waterblock really allows the user to push the card to its limits easily and safely.

The new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980/970 is powered by the next generation NVIDIA Maxwell Architecture, giving you incredible performance, unmatched power efficiency, and cutting-edge features.

Maxwell is the most advanced GPU architecture ever made, designed to be the engine of next generation gaming. Inspired by light, it was designed to solve some of the most complex lighting and graphics challenges in visual computing. For the first time, gaming GPU's can dynamically render indirect light using the new VXGI (Voxel Global Illumination technology). Scenes are significantly more lifelike as light interacts more realistically in the game environment.

The GTX 980 is the worlds fastest GPU and the GTX 970 offers the most advanced performance in its class. Each delivers 2x the performance of previous-generation card, bringing new gaming experiences to virtual reality, and ultra resolution 4k displays.

Enable the detail of 4k monitors, on a 1080P display. DSR produces smoother images by rendering a game at a high resolution, then downscaling it to the native resolution of the display using advanced filtering.

GeForce GTX 980 and 970 cards support tear-free, super-fast NVIDIA G-Sync monitor display technology including 4k. Together, these technologies provide the most immersive and competitive gaming experiences possible.

Isn't the point of the Strix line supposed to be low-noise? The extra cost on those cards is in the cooler? This seems a bit redundant.

Are the cards really any different from any of the other Asus offerings?

The Strix cards are fantastic as they come from the box as the cooler offers excellent performance and is quiet.
For a regular user looking for an overclocked card that sails ahead of everything out of the box, the Strix cards are a great option.

however, no matter how good that cooler is, the performance will never be anywhere near what watercooling can offer. For someone with a custom loop looking to upgrade, they will want to include the Strix card into this rather than going back to air cooling.

The other main reason to choose a Strix card is the DIGI+ VRM with 10-phase power. This means that the card has big clocking potential that is further enhanced using an active cooling solution.

If anything, High end cards like the Strix is worth watercooling more than a ref design board.

I getcha, nice offering then! :)
