The Ultima Extreme Crossfire system incorporates the best and latest hardware currently available. For the CPU we have the AMD Athlon FX60 Dual Core which runs at 2.6GHz which is currently the fastest processor available on the market for games and other applications. This is then situated in the award winning Asus A8R-MVP Crossfire motherboard which offers staggering performance at stock speeds with the best overclocking potential should you wish to do so with a completely fanless design. For memory we have a Corsair 2GB PC3500 Low Latency Dual Channel kit running at aggressive memory timings and allows you to crank the HT up too 5x which improve bandwidth/CPU performance further. Then at the heart of the system we have two ATI Radeon X1900 graphics cards running in Crossfire configured mode to give unbelievably fast frame rates in all SLi/Crossfire supporting games and benchmarks. The hard disk drives are Western Digital's latest 150Gb Raptors which features 10,000rpm and 16MB cache which means blistering performance whilst being quiet due to the fluid dynamic bearing. Performance further boosted with 2 of these drives been configured in RAID 0. All of this is powered by an FSP/Sparkle 700W Crossfire approved PSU which makes sure all parts of the system are recieving enough power to run stable. This really is the system for someone who demands the best. Audio is produced from Creatives Fatal1ty Sound Card which gives games a whole new depth of realism making this system one of the truly fastest and highest quality gaming PC's available on planet earth. Also Overclockers engineers and been able to build this system using the highest quality cooling components which means you can have all this power and still have a very quiet running system even when gaming as you will struggle to hear this system operate its so quiet.

Onto testing - we ran a host of well known benchmarks on the system at the systems stock speeds (2 x 2.6GHz), we did not venture into overclocking we just made sure the BIOS was tuned up by trained OcUK staff and the system was properly configured. Here are the results:-

3D Mark 2001SE Default Test

3D Mark 2003 Default Test

3D Mark 2005 Default Test

3D Mark 2006 Default Test

You can see from the 3D Mark results this is an awsome gaming system and bear in mind we used the set of drivers to come out as these cards are so new, so with time new drivers will be released which further improve performance. However considering this fact the OcUK "Ultima Extreme Crossfire" system is quicker and cheaper than similar PC's available from our competitors. Plus OcUK technicians have a far more knowledgable background due to the companies past - the overclocking experts in the UK - and myself who was once reigning 3D Mark champion many years ago.

Overclocking and tweaked results in reply post

We next ran 3D Mark 2005 and 2006 again but this time we increased the multiplier on the FX60 from 13x too 14x which overclocks both cores to 2.8GHz which was rock stable without the need for improved cooling or extra voltage which says the FX60's are capable of so much more. For the graphics cards we loads the ATI Control panel and went into the overdrive function panel and push both the slider bars to maximum. At these settings the PC never failed once and no visual corruptions were spotted which means both CPU and Graphics are capable of a lot more:-

Conclusion
The benchmark results pretty much speak for themselves. OcUK have put together a system using only the very best components. It's been built by professionals who have years of technical/overclocking knowledge which has resulted in the Ultimate system. Then due to OcUK's excellent buying power they are able to offer such a system at a great price that puts our competitors too shame and our system is not only faster but has fantastic overclocking scope due to the excellent components in use. So if you want the best system then buy the OcUK "Ultima Extreme Crossfire" - it will not dissapoint you and as a bonus its very quiet even when under full load operation.

Also remember OcUK has an entire range of full systems which have carefully been put together to offer the best price and performance combination and then built by professionals leading to great performance and value. :)

This PC is the absolute best and because of this fact Mr. Mark Proudfoot aka Spie has stolen this PC for his own gaming at home!!

droool....

Gonna have to see if I can beat that 3dmark01se score with my inferior system. In fact here is an idea for you, why not have an OcUK 3D Team like that on other boards such as XS. For high end systems you could post stock scores for each of the four 3dmarks and that would give us peeps something to aim for and compare against. Would add a bit of interest to the graphics sub-board and might vene lure back some of the more extreme 3d benchmarkers?

What ya think Gibbo?

EDIT: if would be willing to help out to set something like this up.

Still can't quite believe how fast and quiet this system is. Call of Duty 2 at 2560x1600 on my Dell 30" has to be seen to be believed.

But it's not just games. Everything runs lightening fast. The best system I have ever used.

hey for that price i'll order two..... :/

would so love one of those, thats an awesome system right there

Hi there

Well put it this way the results above are achieved with very mild overclocking as all I did was increase the multiplier to 14x and push the ATI sliders to maximum on the overclock.

Tweaking the FSB upto 325MHz with the memory also running in sync with the CPU at just under 3GHz along with using ATI Tool 16,000 was hit in 3D Mark 2005 and just over 10,000 in 3D Mark 2006.

I never ran 2001, but with that kind of FSB speed it would a smashed through 40,000 very easily as 3D Mark 2001 is effected in a big way when you adjust system performance and it especially loves high FSB and tight memory timings. :)

The Asus motherboard really is an overclockers dream for FSB and HTT speeds. :D

What were the temps like when overclocking all within their boundary's I hope. Also what CPU cooler were you using? Is it the retail one that come with the prozzer by any chance.

A cracking system BTW :)

For £3k I would hope to find 2 optical drives, why only one ?

For most people they will only ever need one unless they are frequently copying CD's. However adding an extra one is not a problem. :)

Hi there

The CPU cooler is the AMD reference jobby that comes in the box. The ATI cards did not seem to heat up, even overclocking them to the maximum possible only resulted in temperatures been 8c higher as I think the temps peaked at around 58-63c and the cards were cool to the touch and the fans never spun up which is a good sign, not even when the box was all closed up. :)

You're a..... :p

VERY nice system - shame I'd have to sell my family's body parts to afford it!
