The Ultima Extreme Crossfire system incorporates the best and latest hardware currently available. For the CPU we have the AMD Athlon FX60 Dual Core which runs at 2.6GHz which is currently the fastest processor available on the market for games and other applications. This is then situated in the award winning Asus A8R-MVP Crossfire motherboard which offers staggering performance at stock speeds with the best overclocking potential should you wish to do so with a completely fanless design. For memory we have a Corsair 2GB PC3500 Low Latency Dual Channel kit running at aggressive memory timings and allows you to crank the HT up too 5x which improve bandwidth/CPU performance further. Then at the heart of the system we have two ATI Radeon X1900 graphics cards running in Crossfire configured mode to give unbelievably fast frame rates in all SLi/Crossfire supporting games and benchmarks. The hard disk drives are Western Digital's latest 150Gb Raptors which features 10,000rpm and 16MB cache which means blistering performance whilst being quiet due to the fluid dynamic bearing. Performance further boosted with 2 of these drives been configured in RAID 0. All of this is powered by an FSP/Sparkle 700W Crossfire approved PSU which makes sure all parts of the system are recieving enough power to run stable. This really is the system for someone who demands the best. Audio is produced from Creatives Fatal1ty Sound Card which gives games a whole new depth of realism making this system one of the truly fastest and highest quality gaming PC's available on planet earth. Also Overclockers engineers and been able to build this system using the highest quality cooling components which means you can have all this power and still have a very quiet running system even when gaming as you will struggle to hear this system operate its so quiet.
Onto testing - we ran a host of well known benchmarks on the system at the systems stock speeds (2 x 2.6GHz), we did not venture into overclocking we just made sure the BIOS was tuned up by trained OcUK staff and the system was properly configured. Here are the results:-
3D Mark 2001SE Default Test
3D Mark 2003 Default Test
3D Mark 2005 Default Test
3D Mark 2006 Default Test
You can see from the 3D Mark results this is an awsome gaming system and bear in mind we used the set of drivers to come out as these cards are so new, so with time new drivers will be released which further improve performance. However considering this fact the OcUK "Ultima Extreme Crossfire" system is quicker and cheaper than similar PC's available from our competitors. Plus OcUK technicians have a far more knowledgable background due to the companies past - the overclocking experts in the UK - and myself who was once reigning 3D Mark champion many years ago.
