Not sure which of the above 2gb kits to get.....running system in sig. so obviously will be running a divider.....which will give tightest timings at around 255+ fsb ??
Any user experiences appreciated.
Also, will the Corsair Heatspreader clear the Big Typhoon on a DFI Expert ?

Not that i cna help. but I'd be intrested to some of suggestions. I got a similar rig and also looking for good RAM to o'c. Sorry one more thing is what is meant by tighter timings and how can it help?

If you are going to run your RAM @ 250 or under go with the Corsair. OCZ for 250+. Both use Infineon chips so good timings on both, but the earlier revision ICs on the Corsair don't clock as high as the newer ones on the OCZ.

I use the corsair set and so far i've been absolutely chuffed with them. If you are aiming at 255mhz though as your ideal spot I think that you might find that these aren't quite perfect. Now at 245-250 you can probably run 2.5-3-2-5, which the OCZ will struggle with, but I've had no luck keeping CAS2.5 past 251mhz. I am not saying that the OCZ will do better at 255mhz, but I certainly wouldn't think that they would do worse.

I'd say the Corsair for around 250MHz... can get mine to this speed...

any higher and it starts throwing memtest errors at those timings, haven't tried the with slacker timings though.

I had trouble with the Corsair heatspreaders when I was using an XP90C, have since swapped to the SI-120 and haven't had any compatability problems. Not sure on what they'll be like with the Thermaltake Big Typhoon though.

That is very freaking good. I'm gonna try playing at 2.6v tonight and see how I do. I was trying at 2.7-2.8v when I got stuck at 251mhz. If I can reach 2.8ghz with those timings (need to get to 256mhz i think) i'll be a happy man.

For those of you with the Corsair.....what revision do you have.....it will be on the sticker, top left, i.e. 1.2 etc

Haha street, we have very similar setups. I'm about to order an X-Fi right now too. :D

I have the OCZ EB's but can't find a sweet spot for 2.5CAS. May have a little FSB bump from 200FSB @ 2.5CAS tonight.

My current stable results are below.

200FSB @ 2-3-2-5 (need to test going higher on FSB)
250FSB @ 3-3-2-5 (nice starting point if your new to memory)
260FSB @ 3-3-2-5 (can hit 261FSB but anything more is unstable)

edit: smids on the forum has hit 270FSB @ 3-3-2-5 stable on his OCZ EB batch using a DFI. :)
