OCZ Sandforce Firmware update 1.23 (Vertex2, Agility2, Vertex-LE, Vertex2 Pro, Vertex2-EX, Vertex2-E

I applied F8H and after a few heart stopping issues managed to get the machine working (had to disconnect all drives and pull all cards except video to get into the BIOS after updating).

The SMART error has gone and system is stable. Cheers for the information!

Had my first "uh-oh" moment going from 1.23 -> 1.24 earlier today.

After I thought it had hung during the firmware download the PC finally rebooted, but then I got a Boot MGR is missing error. Panic!

Restarted again, same thing. So this time I powered the PC off, and turned it back on. The drive was now listed in the AHCI part of the boot up process, but still it said that Boot MGR is missing. Finally, went into the BIOS and found it had shifted the drive from 1st boot device out of my 3 HDD's to the last one. I moved it back, and all was well.

I haven't had that with the last two firmware flashes... very bizarre!

I had a similar issue when I moved the drive from port 3 to port 0. To resolve the Boot MGR is missing error message I booted from the Win 7 DVD and did a repair. Weird how it errored though.

That's actually semi-expected behaviour if you flash using the OCZ Toolbox on the OS which is installed on the SSD. The OCZ forums say pretty much the same thing - leave the PC off for 10 minutes or so, turn it back on, then check the BIOS boot order is correct and it should be fine.
