I'm just about to order the 50GB OCZ SSD drive. do they ship from overclockers with a mounting bracket?

when I read reviews online it mentions that OCZ provide one but I'm assuming that is full retail boxings of the item. the overclockers page doesn't mention it.

do I need to order myself a 2.5" to 3.5" drive mounting bracket?

also, out of the 50GB capacity. how much of that is actually useable? I see most SSD drives seem to have about 7% set aside. some reviews mention the OCZ drives using more, but not how much. so how much storage can we actually use?

OCZ Vertex 2(E) drives come with a 2.5" to 3.5" mounting bracket.

The capacity quoted excludes any capacity set aside for "overprovisioning", so you will get the full 50 GB (46.6 GiB). I believe the 50 GB and 60 GB drives actually have 64 GB of space, so in the case of the 50 GB drives they have 28% overprovisioning.

My Vertex 2E came with a 2.5" to 3.5" converter.
However it's not a bracket but a metal plate, the mounting holes for the SSD are on the bottom, but it can only be secured to a drive bay via the sides.

And in addition it's a short adapter so if your drive bays are expecting full size 3.5" drives and only have the end mounting holes (like mine :( ) you'll need some creativity.
