OCZ Vertex 2E 120GB on Today Only £158.61

If this was 160 I'd get it so in that case I'm still waiting for the Intel gen 3 like many other people

Intel Gen3 is next year now, most likely Feb-March, when that comes out will you then wait for Gen4? Problem as already stated you could wait forever.

We have Patriot drives at a crazy price for tonight only, something to look into. :)
 
Oh no, I was going to order one this morning before work but was running late so had to leave, I get home to find they are at the previous price again!:mad:
 
The Patriot drives do look to have exactly the internals as the Vertex 2E's. I think it is a safe bet that performance will be identical too.

Just a shame about the colour:).
 
The patriot drives use the new controller, maybe the Vertex 2E is going out of production with its "old" SF1200 controller?

Hence the price drops of late!

The Vertex 2E uses the same SF-1222TA3-SBH controller (at least the ones pictured on review sites do).

I think it is just that they are generally referred to as SF1200 series and Patriot decided to be more specific, possibly for marketing reasons :)
