Hello,
I've bought the 2E 120GB a few months ago, and obliviously installed Win7 in IDE mode...
Today, I've done the reinstall: SSD is on port 0, got the last IntelRST Drivers and updated to the latest OCZ firmware (1.24).
The difference is that I set my board SATA mode to RAID mode instead of AHCI.
I read somewhere that this has the same result as AHCI if no RAID array is configured. So I chose RAID because it seemed like a more future-proof choice.
Old WEI with IDE = 7.0, after RAID = 7.5, after new firmware and RST = 7.5...
I find it odd that neither the firmware nor the RST drivers improved my WEI.
So I'm only getting a 7.5 WEI, whereas most people get 7.7 or above.
I have exactly the same board as CK, and one OCZ Vertex 2E 120GB SSD.
But running ATTO presents the same result as bifday2k's 60GB SDD.
Would the RAID setting actually impact performance at all?
I didnt secure erase the disk after the IDE install, is this the problem?
(If so, why? Theoretically, Win7 already has TRIM support to avoid problems with near-full SDDs.)
Or should I just ignore the WEI?
By the wei, what WEI are you getting now CK?
