Decorate 4 bedrooms, 3 hallways, lounge & bathroom. Replace floor in hall, knock wall down in lounge, recarpet lounge, re-tile kitchen, insulate two walls, replace all doors, re-wire lounge for entertainment system and build a new shed.

That'll do for 2011!

Already done this year :

*Lounge decorated
*Lounge wooden floor put in
*3 hallways decorated

Next year :

*Board out the loft
*Make a lego world up there
*Loft Ladder
*Re-decorate all 3 kids bedrooms
*Decorate my bedroom
*Knock a doorway through to the garage from the spare room downstairs
*Partition half the garage for pc/chillout room
*Make downstairs room a dedicated cinema room
*Build another shed in the garden
*Lay some decking for the garden

Tbh, I rarely go out at all these days. But when I do I just stick to lemonade. Probably not the best thing for someone trying to lose weight though. Maybe fruit juice instead.

I don't really miss drinking (99% of the time) but there's something bizarre about being in a pub all day only to leave stone cold sober. You can still have a good time but it definitely feels like you're missing out.

I totally get this, I quit drinking 8 years ago, I very rarely go out to pubs anymore (unless it's for a country pub/family meal). When I first quit I contined to go to the pubs with mates for a while after - it was fine up until a point, then it just did my head in.

As someone who lives in rented property and has done for 2 years- I'm ITCHING to have a place of my own and get on with some good old fashion DIY :D

hey i forgot a "done this year list".

  • ripped out old kitchen
  • moved boiler to a less dumbass place (was 8ft from an extrernal wall when we bought the place)
  • blocked up a doorway
  • installed new kitchen
  • rewired whole house inc new consumer unit
  • decorated dining/living/1st bed/2nd bed rooms
  • moved in

We were fortunate enough that we know someone who works at the local council dump so once we had moved all our stuff in my father, father-in-law and I filled the back of a large VW Crafter to the brim with all the crap from the revamp. So much so that to finish we had to shut one door and pile stuff up behind it! When i arrived at the dump the guy was sitting in a big JCB and waved us into one of the buildings where i backed in with the JCB bucket careering towards me (an experience to say the least).

We opened all the doors and stuff just fell out, once we finally emptied the van he made the rubbish disappear and got a nice bottle of Jamesons for his trouble. Happy days.

I honestly couldn't believe how much stuff we chucked out bearing in mind the house was empty save for the kitchen units and one single bed. After three months of either doing 12 hour shifts at work or 12 hour days at the house i was a little knackered. It was only a few months ago that i got back the will to start doing other little bits again lol.
