I went out to get some baubles this afternoon. The crowd in the market was such that I was moving slowly through, and so I was near a fruit & veg stall long enough to see/hear the following occur:

An elderly woman approaches one of two men on the stall and starts babbling in a foreign tongue. He said "slow down, tell me in English what you want dear." She just kept babbling then grabbed hold of his hand and seemed to be imploring him, still in foreign. He said to the other man on the stall, " 'ere John, I've had enough of this. Tell her to point at what she wants will you?" John looked at her and said "point at what you want love" and then turned backed to his customer. :D

What was the first man thinking?!
