just had my rear brakes done and now when I apply the handbrake, the brake pedal depresses a bit by itself.

I noticed it when at the lights tonight, had my foot on the pedal after coming to a stop and applied the handbrake. The pedal then moved, only about a one cm, down on its own

Do i need to bleed the system?

Quite normal, with the handbrake you are pushing the caliper pistons out mechanically, and the extra space has to be taken up by hydraulic fluid. Normally the fluid would be pulled straight from the fluid reservoir on top of the master cylinder, but if you have your foot resting on the pedal it blocks the port from the master cylinder to fluid reservoir, and the pedal will move down slightly.
