Hi,

I im thinking about the upgrade to vista from xp sp2 even though its currently running perfectly.

I have decided on the 64bit version from reading all the posts on here about drivers etc.

I am confused as to wether i should go for the OEM or retail version ??

apart from the price, what are the main differences between the two ?

Can i still upgrade components (graphics card etc.) with the OEM version ?

Thanks

Yes you can upgrade what you want, except the motherboard is tied to one license key in a OEM version of Vista.

Will it work? You need to find relevent drivers for your hardware first. I'd personally wait a week or two as I'm sure the first service pack is due out then.

You can upgrade everything bar the motherboard. Have a look at the sticky for the license restrictions.

I would say that OEM is probably the best choice unless you upgrade the moboevery few months.
