It's 7:36 am here in New York, and B&H opens at 10 on a Sunday. So I'll be heading off down there to pick up a 10-22 and see what I can make the buildings do :)

I'll be off photographing around the city today, so I'll post some results :)

I can't think of a worse place to be to test such a lens.
What you need is a telephoto :p

On a serious note, how does this compare to the Sigma 10-20mm? I'm guessing from the cost the Canon is better, but how much better?

Right, a little late I grant you, but finally got round to posting some images. Firstly, this is really really really wide. Some samples:

First one I took:

Took this at lunch:

It's quite amazing how much this can get in:

Whilst out, I found this guy - think it's a 300mm L prime, not sure though:

This isn't off the 10-22mm, but C&C welcome on this. I was going to use it as an entry, but decided to go with a different one:

Don't think so, growse. It certainly isn't the 2.8IS.

To me, it looks like a push zoom, so it could be the 100-400, but it looks more like the old 35-350mm to me.

Doesn't mean much but it's the wrong hood for the 100-400, 35-350's a good shout I'd say.

Fair enough. I just thought I saw it say 300mm USB on the ring of the front bit. No idea otherwise :)
In which case, I'd suggest the 28-300 IS as a likely candidate. From memory, that and the 35-350mm are very similar, in physical appearance ..... as you'd expect.

Its the 35 - 350 (thanks jonny) one of the most easily reconised lenses in Canons fleet. You confused it with this! :O
It's clearly different from most, certainly, but unless you can get a clear view of the control panel (or the name), it's very hard to tell from the 28-300. The 28-300 does not have the large IS control panel of the 300 f2.8 (as per the picture you linked), but just a couple of extra switches on the same panel as the focus limiter and AF/MF switch .... as is found on the 35-350mm.

I certainly can't be sure of which it is from that picture ..... but then, I'm no expert.
