***Offical Game of Year Contender Dragons Dogma***

Problem with this game is its too easy :( The dragon (drake) went down last night...i was lvl 36 with a **** load of healing water. I hope i havent accidentally killed the main boss!

(did get a little help from a sorceror with some serious bad ass lightning lol)

I think as soon as you get to around 36 - 38 lvl game becomes too easy. I can easily wade through any amount of enemies no problem at all.

Yeah, I'm starting to agree. I took down the Drake last night too. Whilst it was an epic battle, it wasn't difficult once I'd learned its attacks. Chimera, Ogres, Cyclopes and Griffin are now easy. I'm level 40.

I suspect there may be some more enemies we haven't seen, or maybe just a main last boss that will be as hard as nails. Do we think that maybe it would have been better for enemies to level up with you? I dunno.

Still enjoying it though. :D

Well i would have appreciated more enemies onscreen e.g. hobgoblins, goblins etc. Was in a foresty bit on west coast fighting a bunch of hobgoblins felt a bit like Boromir taking them on myself :D but there was too few of them for it to be anything other than a walk in the park.

Also think i might revise my original statement of GOTY... its a good game but not *that* good.

Part of the problem is it is way too easy to hire pawns above your level. I received 60,000 rift crystals yesterday coz 3 ppl hired my pawn (20k each!). Either my pawn was with each of them for ages or they had loads of RC and just tried my pawn out for 5 minutes...coz got **** rating back from each of them (well 3 stars) Dunno why you would give a **** rating to a pawn you keep for hours?? I always give good gifts and rating if i keep the pawn for a while.

I wonder if anyone has abused making more pawns by simply playing on another account for a new one. I mean the only reason I would see someone doing this is just to make more pawns with the looks or classes that you want, or get more items by other means, and only having your own creations in a full party. I mean sure it will be a lot of work, especially to get the pawns up a decent standard, but sounds possible.

The enemies you face when you are just roaming around have become too easy, I agree.

You guys should check out the Frontier Caverns for a few surprises...at least I haven't seen you mention some of the beasties in there yet :D

I am still really enjoying the game, I don't know what the best solution for keeping the game challenging is, I don't really like level scaling as it destroys the feeling of progression for me.

EDIT *** Sorry, not the frontier caverns, the place that has an entrance south of the great wall, and another down the hill and east of the female bandit stronghold. I forget the name.

hrmm dont think ive been there - havent done that female bandit quest..thats where ill b eafter the tennis then :D

Frontier caverns have a big portcullis and small gate at the end which dont open do they open later???

I had a quest to kill a particularly nasty armored cyclops in an arena type environment in the frontier caverns, but there was still 2 portcullises and a chest that I couldn't access in there, must be a quest later.

I've just got home now, I'll pop on in a bit with Robs pawn for another little adventure, time to kill the drake I think.

Has anyone found a wyvern yet ?

Without going into too many spoilers,
there's an event that re-shapes some of the world and introduces new creatures and a few new areas.
There'll be a new quest to revisit said location to fight a new-ish enemy.

I believe Rift Crystals are earned by how long and how many quests someone completes with your pawn so if you pawn cost 100k to rent, you wouldn't necessarily receive 100k. :)

Oh dear. Corrupt save 40 hours in during dragon fight. Well done capcom. Single save. Brilliant idea.

Excuse me while I smash this piece of .... into a thousand pieces.

The single save system is less than ideal.

I can see why they only want you to have 1 profile to avoid abusing the pawn system, but surely giving you 3 or 5 saves for that profile isn't too much to ask.

about 100 hours in now with a magic archer and strider pawn level 56, just felled the beast in devil grove hurrah! still finding quests too and i want to upgrade my gimble gyre a bit before i go for his bigger brother.

i picked this up yesterday and just feel overwhelmed by it all.

i don't fully under understand how combat works and what's the point in climbing the monsters? doesn't seem to increase the speed of their demise.
