***Offical Game of Year Contender Dragons Dogma***

I don't generally like multiplayer stuff, yep I'm a loner and play single player only... Hence I don't have gold. However, this community style play on this games looks very nice indeed, so this will be a PS3 purchase for me so I can make new friends :)

That being said, I did love the online features of demons souls and dark souls though!

Dragons Dogma looks very good though!

Demo next week :) If you have US account can get it a day earlier.

Is anybody preordering this? Where are you preordering from if you dont mind me asking? I'm not sure if every place you preorder from has the preorder DLC included e.g. amazon doesnt list the upgrade pack as part of their listing.

another video showing ways you can throw and grab stuff looks pretty cool to me :)

lol putting yourself on FIRE then jumping on big beastie to set THEM on fire haha! class!

1080p Xbox 360 video very recent build (April)

not sure if range attacks have a lock on going by the video.

I have to say, I am really liking the look of this!

Interesting concept with the pawn system. Although I personally would have quite enjoyed it if you could control your pawn in someone elses game so that you could play co-op.

Ah well, still looks very promising...

A sort of multiplayer co-op Monster Hunter-ish mode would be nice. A future DLC implementation perhaps?

Either still, looking forward to this game. And I really do hope there will be a PC version.

The demo is out, 1.5GB.

I couldn't find it on my xbox dashboard, but if you go to xbox.com marketplace you will find it on the dragons dogma page -> more info and can then queue it to your 360.

On my console it hung at "pending" until I went to view active downloads.

Its downloading now. Hope that helps! :)

I'm sure it won't be too long before its up on xbox dashboard anyway.

Not wanting to sound like a fanboy but don't multi-format games generally run a little better on Xbox than PS3?
Usually, yes. This game uses the MT framework and due to the open nature of the environments I'd expect the Xbox version to be slightly better.

Well just finished the demo, its fairly short.

It does include the full character and pawn creation system so you can have your characters ready to go and import them to the full game.

One quest as a fighter, one extremely short quest as a strider (rogue class).

The combat will take some getting used to after the brilliant dark souls.

As the fighter you can block with the shield, but there does not appear to be a dodge / roll mechanic implemented, nor a parry system unless I am missing something.

So if you don't have a shield then I guess you just run out of the way, or stay at range.

I would be quite interested in other peoples opinions on the combat. The game looks pretty good, the animations are great. The first thing I did was turn off pawn subtitles, jeez they don't have go on. I wish there was a way to cut down the amount of generic chat...

I will still pick it up when its released, I think it has potential, lets hope Capcom don't have a shocker with DLC content. :)

Surfer, looks like the PS3 demo comes out tomorrow, some blurb:

"You can download it from Xbox Live Marketplace and from the US PlayStation Store on Tuesday 24th April. It goes live a day later, on Wednesday, 25th April, on the European PlayStation Store.

In the demo you can play as two of the game's character classes, the Fighter and the Strider, in two encounters. You also have a party of three Pawns. The Fighter encounter is a Prologue quest set before the events of the main game. The Strider quest is set in the open plains surrounding the capital of Gransys. Both end with a big bad boss fight.

You get to design your main character and your main Pawn using Dragon's Dogma's character creation tool. Buy the full game when it launches in May and you'll be able to export both characters over."
