***Offical Game of Year Contender Dragons Dogma***

Looks like you've been on it quite a bit, your pawn is level 37. I've now borrowed her. Seems you did this quest with my pawn as she and yours know exactly where to go :D

Yet to really see what she's like in battle.

Yes, I've had quite a bit of free time yesterday and tonight, had such a good time just exploring in this game, to the north of Gran Soren this time and I made it (just!!!) to the great fortress too.

I love the ghosts at night time! :)

I go away tomorrow and won't be back until Monday evening, so the pawn will be as is til then.

The pawn is level 40 now, so if shes pulling her weight in your game then she should be good to have in the party for a while!

Any feedback? :)

Before I leave tomorrow I can change her spells etc if you like, I had just switched her back to mage to finish leveling up to see if vocation rank 9 provided any good augments.

I can leave her as a mage if you like, with some fire and lightning spells, as well as the heal and fire buff.

Or as sorcerer, with high level fire and lightning (the forcefield is awesome, destroys a Chimeara in seconds :D ) as well as a fire buff and a spell that cures status ailments.

Your pawn was doing well, although there is no scope of sneaking past groups of bandits at night, she charges straight in there! :D

She is currently a sorcerer with me. I would prefer a mage with decent healing. But not had her long enough to see how good she is in a real fight. We took down a cyclops in seconds, but that's it. I will give her back and re-hire her again.

Thinking of picking this up, I've seen some people compare it to Dark Souls? Is that a fair comparison as I really enjoyed Dark Souls while at the same time hating it.

Ok, I'll pop on and set up her spells for healing. Any other requests? :)

At the moment she will have:

Fireball spell
Lightning whip
Fire Buff
Healing
Status Curing (Silence, torpor etc)
Spellscreen (enhances all attributes)

This setup will very much be support based, she tends to get the firebuffs done first before casting offensive spells. She knows when to use fire attacks and when to use lightning attacks. Her staff also has holy damage against undead.

I took your advice DutchSchaeffer and dropped the Mage and hired a Sorceror

and loaded up on healing water (60 bottles). By mistake i managed to miss the healing spring which is quite close to Gran Soren and went to the one way further up north :o

One problem which is a bit weird. Lately both my pawn and the sorceror pawn i have sometimes when they were fighting dire wolves, undead etc they would say "they are having no effect" or basically their attacks arent having an effect??

my strider pawn has daggers with fire on them so bizarre that would have no effect on dire wolves???? hrmm its a bit weird.

Also my sorceror pawn who i hired has all these mahoosive spells she has never used yet? admittedly i havent had a boss fight with her on board.

other things been getting up to

ran away from that dragon :p

advanced the story/talked to the duke and other things....spoilerific.

spent about 200k on armour/weapons

Ohh almost forgot

My pawn strider seems to be maxing out her skills should i change her to another vocation??? her skillset hasnt changed really because theres no new skills for her! (lvl 32)

Maybe ranger? or fighter?

Hi Surfer, if you like how she plays as a Strider then maybe have a look at what Augments the other classes offer and see if they would benefit her in her role as Strider?

Augments earned in any vocation carry over.

ie if her defense seems a little low, warrior has an augment that boosts defense by 50.

You could spec her as a warrior to unlock the augment then switch back to Strider.

Alternatively, ranger has some fantastic high powered shots albeit they take a while to charge and you would be losing some of the melee and climbing abilities that the strider specialises in.

Nothing lost if you change her class for a while, you can always switch back!

I keep flip-flopping between mage and sorcerer for my pawn, and fighter / mystic knight for my main character just to change it up a little.

Hope this helps! :)

Oh just read your above post.

Yes, the sorcerer really needs a big encounter with lots of enemies or a boss fight to come into their own.

The normal encounters are over too quickly for them to get the big hitters out, but she has saved us numerous times from wiping when they deploy.

Look for sorcerers with "High Fulmination", its the lightning forcefield that covers the entire party that I keep banging on about :D , its fantastic, and doesn't take quite as long as some of the other big spells.

Oh, and for the the spring water trick, a pawn with the medicant trait would be ideal. You can see their primary and secondary traits in one of the pages on the status menu.

Well, here are some pics of the adventures I've had over the past couple of days with R0B75's pawn:

A bad start! Just walked out the south exit of Gran Soren on an escort quest, needless to say the person I was supposed to be escorting died within seconds!! LOL :D

I'm currently stuck on a quest to kill a Griffin. Supposed to lure it out with bait but I don't know how :D

Edit: Managed to lure the beasty out. What an epic quest! Completed with the help of Dutch's Pawn, Sansa.

Here comes the beasty!
