***Official 2010 Your Best/Worse PC Games***

Fallout New Vegas (looks horrible & gameplay is dated. Its not even a full price product should have been Fallout3 DLC !!)

lol
Not a full game? I've put nearly as many hours into Vegas as I did in Fallout 3 and I really took my time in 3

Vegas is a great game, it may not be the most visually stunning game but it is extremely enjoyable with tonnes of stuff to do, exploring and side quests are the mainstay of the fallout games

Bad Company 2, Fallout Vegas and Mass Effect 2 are probably my favourite games this year (though I would like some RPG elements back in ME, ME2 was a little too dumbed down)

Battlefield Bad Company 2 is the overall game of the year for me with 170 hours of online play and i'm still not bored of it, its got great communities, amazing graphics and its still patched and updated this far after release Dice and EA know how to appreciate their customers

Just Cause 2 is probably the most surprising for me, its a great game to pick up and play and have a laugh blowing things up, incredible graphics and runs great which means its not a shoddy console port in my eyes

Batman Arkham Asylum wow what an incredible game, am I right in saying this is from the same people as Just Cause 2? I remember seeing the demo on my mates 360 and I was a bit meh and didnt bother, picked it up a bit cheaper in a sale and played it through and from opening scene with the Joker I was hooked, on PC the graphics are incredible, really enjoyed it and cant wait for the next one

Assasins Creed 2 was another surpise for me, I didnt enjoy the first one at all but after reading that the devs had listened to what people had said about the first I picked it up and wasnt disapointed, the story and gameplay had me hooked right to the end and what a huge game

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, if there is ever reason to not listen to haters before trying it yourself this is it, I almost didnt buy it but I luckily got it for £20 and its great fun, theres a few irritating bits and its far from perfect but online when theres a cop in your rear view and theres a mile to go theres not a game out at the moment thats quite as tense

Fall Out New Vegas, one of those games that never fails to surprise you and irritate you at the same time, playing 60% in all of its stuttering glory was an annoyance but when they fixed it, it ran like a dream however why do these bugs on an engine as old as this exist? I got 30 hours of play on first play through and i'd happily play it through again, I paid full price on release day and believe it to be worth every penny but I just wish it were a little more scary and there were more variaty in freaks and monsters etc. It just scrapes above average for me.

Worst

Aliens vs Predator, I had such high hopes for this based on the older games and what a disapointment, on release day it was impossible to play due to Steam Cloud issues. The single player wasnt scary and the multi player entertained me for all of a week, instantly forgettable

Splinter Cell Conviction was another game released based on the hype of its predecessors and there was me reading that it was going to be open world and a different but better spin on the stealth franchise but no, it was linear and dissapointing however it ran quite well, had good graphics and the scenes where you smashed people into things were cool and I played it to the end, just wish I didnt pay £30 for it

Medal Of Honour i'm only going to complain about the single player as the multi player again from Dice is quite good fun in small doses. The single player is a blatent console port with poor graphics and its as simple as that really, no decent spec PC deserves to run this crap

COD Black Ops, I have only hate for this game.

Interesting to see how people see the same game so differently

Best
Black Ops - Loved the single player, yes it was a bit QTE heavy but fun. and MP rocks for those with skill.
Just Cause 2 - I can't believe how many hours went into this - great game

Worst
Not sure, will look at my steam library when i get home

Best

Bad Company 2 (first game i ever pre-ordered and that was possibly the best choice i ever made)
F1 2010 (never had a problem with it)
Black Ops (standard fun, almost like an interactive movie)
Splinter Cell Conviction (return to form for the series)

Worst
Medal Of Honor - I'm ashamed to say it's still taking up room on my hdd.
AVP - Even though this game is pure rubbish it had possibly one of the best parts in a game ever. When your playing as the marine and your in the nightclub and all the strobes start flying around, lights are flashing and your just running around spraying aliens, it was epic. All downhill from there on.

The one race i managed to play on Hot pursuit was very fun and im sure if the game worked for me it would be on my best list :)

Had lots of fun with Just Cause 2 and Batman this year. Don't understand the JC2 haters, such a massive world with so much to do. Best looking game as well.

Lucky enough not to buy anything bad enough to qualify as 'worst' :)

Best for me would be
Mass Effect 2
Fallout New Vegas
Stalker CoP

Worst

AvP - I don't think I've ever regretted buying a game as much as AvP.

For worse catergory I forgot about:

Bioshock2- Its a carbon copy rehash of Bioshock1 but with no gamepad support even though its a gamepad game design they decided to include a lame & laggy mouse + kb scheme which is obviously lacking as it takes longer to swop weapons than a gamepad on the 360 version

This would not be so bad if the game did not look very dated especially the tacked on MP which looks about 5 years out of date & the gameplay is identical to Bioshock1 (which got old very quickly back in 2007 but in 2010 its positively ancient). No wonder Ken Levine would not endorse it or declined to commment on the sequel as he wanted to distance himself from it as the game is also buggy, has DLC which was ripped out of the full game & cancelled then uncancelled. Its been cheap to buy for about 5 months now due to very low sales on PC & even the expensive collectors edition was selling for under a tenner 4 months ago as thats how little demand there is for this game on PC :(

I've not yet made my mind up on Mafia II.

I think it looks good, it runs well and has a very nice "feel" to it (if that makes sense)

I just struggle with how short the game is, the lack of anything else to really do.

It could have being amazing.

It's probably the biggest dissapointment in a while.
