Vegas even with the neon on the strip doesnt look much better, you can see why it wasnt during the daytime, a load of carparks and hotels with a few weird shaped buildings.
I think you’d probably get a better view of the Strip if it ran during the day, I think the circuit lights drown it out a bit at night.

People need to remember this GP isn't really about the track or the racing, they just wanted an American version of Monaco to drag all the VIPs with deep pockets along to on that side of the Atlantic.

So I’m a fairly newish F1 fan, probably 4 years or so now… but what’s stopping Ferrari suing the track owners? Like that level of damage causing issues to the cost cap is wholly unfair. I get the lack of deviation from the rules but the fact Ferrari and Alpine wont be compensated seems wholly unfair.
They shouldn't need to sue. They should be able to make a claim against the track's insurance provider, as Haas did in 2018 when a similar thing wrote off the chassis of Grosjean's car. They would only need to sue if the insurance start playing games. I can't imagine Liberty would want that to tarnish the legacy of the "Supreme, Awesome, Amazing Spectacle of the Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023"!

They could have upgraded all of Road America , Laguna , VIR and Watkins for less and still had the chance to pull in crowds from all over the US without all the daftness we are seeing trying to run on the strip.

I just dont get these street circuits where all you can see is concrete and catch fencing, its not very iconic and very forgettable. Miami just looked like a load of concrete overpasses and warehouses, it could have been anywhere, the Middle Eastern races the same, they all blend into one.

Completely agree. We could just go back to Valencia in the dark and install 20,000 LEDs on the dockside and it'd look the same on camera.

The transformation of F1 into nothing but a money circus is complete.

What happened to the sport that used to be great?

When tickets are 25k instead of 5k for monaco its mental. Wonder if anyone paying for this will even watch

86k to get hosted by mark whlberg and have david courtard commentary sounds good.

For 5 million i wouldnt even get to walk down down the track and get an awkward interview with brundle

Imagine paying that much money and not knowing it wasn't a race. Jeez.

Bungled by FIA, obviously, but as I understand it they couldn't simply pay more money, it was down to rules beyond their control.

As I understand it was pretty hard and fast Union rules that meant the security staff had to be done at a certain time with no flexiblity.
I'm not surprised, I think even bellhops and valet parking attendants have a union in Vegas!
