I pulled the short straw, but I'm sure the Lt will be the hardest at work in here. ;)

If not LtMatt then the thread about disabled boost bios wouldn't appear on this forum.

My card 79.8% ASIC running the 1070/1500 low voltage BIOS 50-60% max temp seen was 74c under crysis 3. Playing normal games which aren't that task heavy is around 64-69c at max 70c. Idle around 29-31c depending on room ambient.

I finally managed to flash my card using LtMatt's BIOS. I set to 1100/1400 and gave it a quick blast on The Bureau. I got a black screen on entering a mission and then remembered I hadn't changed the power limit. Upping that to +30 solved the problem and it ran happily at 63c and 50% fan speed (nicely warm room and I am near to the radiator).

I need to try pushing it with something more demanding but I am very happy with those sort of temps while gaming, especially as I haven't improved the intake fan on my 350D yet.

+20% will be enough if you used the 925/1250 stock bios i put in the OP or Post 2.

Matt, what BIOS profiles do you have? E.g. clocks, volts?
Going back, I remmember that you asked khaboom for your own profiles?

Do any of you guys remmember which MSI AB version works okish with this modded BIOS? I used trixx for most of the time but now I seem to have big problems with it e.g. stability, fan control staying 60% and not going down when the card downclocks etc...

If i was you id use the one i list in the OP/2nd post. 925/1250 stock clocks with a voltage of 1.175v, 50% power tune and a custom fan profile. 30c=30%, 60c=60%,90c=100%. Works really well. Its basically the fan profile i used before i gave the specifics to Kaboom. At least with this bios everyone can run it at stock and then overclock depending on what their card can do.

I do have a couple of others though, but without the custom fan profile. 1093/1563 @1.163v and 1100/1575 @1.175v. Think i also have a couple of one Kaboom did for me using different slightly lower clocks.

The problem is that my card is 79.8% ASIC and yours is around 60% so my card doesn't need the voltage your card needs. But I will give this a go :)
Do you use MSI AB or Trixx?

So ive just ordered one of these to crossfire with my Windforce 7950. Now I run my WF at 1000/default vram speed (PC isnt currently set up to check as im painting the room before I spend all weekend holed up in it playing with these cards) so do I just connect up my card with the crossfire bridge etc and then update to the latest beta drivers that improves CF and then set this card to match my WF?

Don't worry these bios scale with asic so actually your voltage should show as considerably lower. How much lower i don't know. Maybe you can confirm? You will have to reset afterburner and probably restart your pc before it will pick up the correct default voltage.

Yes.

Use beta 13.10 and disable ULPS with afterburner then restart and you're good to go.

Yep, I will give it a go now. :D

I tried it again at 20% and The Bureau crashes with a black screen and then a game not responding error on desktop. The same happens at 25% but at 30% it runs fine, so I am not sure what is going on there.

Another odd issue since flashing the BIOS is my system doesn't wake up from power saving properly. There is power to the peripherals but no display and I have to hard power off to restart (gives the usual 'Windows did not shutdown properly' message on restart). I will see if going back to BIOS switch 2 makes any difference later on tonight.

Sounds like you're still on the stock bios to me. I'm able to run 1.3v 1215/1750 and i don't get any throttling at 20%. So if you can get throttling with lower clock and voltage on a game that is not at all demanding them something is not right there. I also have no issues waking up from sleep.

LtMatt, I think you forgot to upload that stock bios.

Is there much benefit to me flashing the bios if my card is already running stable and cool?

I'm at 1100/1400 at the moment and temps don't get any higher than 64 after a few hours of sleeping dogs. Idles at 30

The only extra benefit for you will be a built in automatic fan profile optimized by Moi for Ice-Q users.

I can still get throttling if I don't do 30% in some titles regardless the bios matt, it may be one of my cards, maybe one needs the extra juice idk.

My wake up is busted now too since since I put in the 925MHz bios, goes to show how differing setups can throw wobblies on drivers, dcsarge is on Z78, I'm on Z77 and matts on P67 I think.

Z77 has thrown up anomalies like undoing the 6950 unlocked shaders and other various things that was fine when I was on Z67.:(

I've updated the post and will drop tommy a mail to get him to update the OP.

Done.

Ordered, will have a re-read of this thread I think. :D

Lol, caved in and went beauty and the beast mode!;):D

Furry muff. Well the 50% is there so may as well use it. Could be something to do with the Asic rating of the cards as well. No harm at all in using +30%.
