Tild key it's called or tilde ` not sure exact spelling

Another way obviously i will use the tild key now on, was to press F2 F3 etc til all were white/light then use your own F1 command the make all do etc

"R CRTL M" will bring up a mini map

Brilliant!!!. Thanks.

Thanks for all the info guys, appreciate it.

Another quick question if I may - When you start building a base and build a light vehicle factory.....once you have built a vehicle and used it, expended its ammo etc, is there a way to rearm it with more rounds and missiles?.

I built a BRDM2 and a BRDM2 ATGM and have used up all my ammo on both, how do I rearm them?.

I never played ArmA and i just got ArmA 2 so im totally new to the game.

I'm finding aiming rather difficult. I've played with sensitivity settings but it seems to either scroll too quickly or not quickly enough. It seems impossible to get a nice smooth aiming action going.

Is it meant to be like this?

Cheers.

Fired on the demo and had a quick run through bootcamp. First impressions are that movement/aiming feels massively clumsy and awkward, and the action menus etc are all a bit fiddly. Not sure I'm going to like this, but will give it a proper shot over the weekend.

Is it just me? or does this game play like a complete and utter dog....

i wasn't expecting to have to put SO MANY settings on low to even get playable fps...(20-30......)

especially at 1280 x 1024 with the spec in sig...

overall the controls, combined with the sound issues, combined with the lag and motion burr failure, have made this game a total disappointment for me before Ive even played it properly.

not happy at all...

Hi all im having trouble playing arma 2 on my rig just had a bios update at overclocker and now it wont play at the OC speed of 3.8Ghz but if i revert to optimal settings at stock 3.2Ghz there is no problem.

Just a note it was fine before Bios update
windows 7 rc1
rig is Ultima Warlord from OCUK

Any help would be appricated. thx:rolleyes:

I've got the same mobo and chip as you, also running @3.8Ghz. I'm getting some probs with ARMA2 generally crashing out... also had a BSOD.

What BIOS version are you running?

... I'm on F4G at the moment, not seen anything newer though.

Mine gets delivered later today, but having put the demo on two computers here yesterday for a dabble I am kind of regretting it...

first of all, what the hell is up with the netcode to this? even over LAN there were lag problems, with very noticable teleporting of players, I don't even remember that in ArmA.

But beyond the shiney graphics I am wondering what is different to ArmA? the AI still sucks balls to the point of making the entire game a pointless debacle, if you're not being single shotted through foliage from a mile away you're seeing half a brigade of enemy troops pointlessly running backwards and forwards in plain sight like it was developed as a multi million dollar version of duck hunt.

Everything about the game gives a very clunky unpolished feel to it, whether it be the movement / aiming model to the ropey animations IE still seeing enemy play out their current animation before dying which leads to most kills resulting in Ronaldo like antics all the way those disgusting voices that the developers seem to be so proud of they have them blaring out every other second.

If anyone had their fingers burned by ArmA and walked away from it with only a residing feeling of 'meh' then expect nothing more from this, only more 'meh' because several years later none of the original 'meh' has been even remotely addressed.

Anyway, perhaps the full version just holds enough content to wash over all of that, will find out later :(

Somethings not right there. Your spec is better than mine in all regards and you are using a lower resolution than me.

What OS are you using? Have you looked at the ARMA 2 tweak/tips thread?

i've been playing in the armoury and can anyone tell me why the su's just fall out the sky for no reason?

i'm flying along trying to do the challenges and then without warning i just slow down and drop, i'm holding thrust and it just dont go lol.

Are you making sharp turns or holding onto the 'S' Key to pull up?

SU seems to bleed speed like nobody's business, one minute doing fine, make one sharp turn and you loose a lot of speed, try to pull up but all it does is decrease the speed even more before you clip a tree.

no just flying straight usually, i thought it was because i went out of the "training area".

Ohh could be, not sure.. will have to give it a go but yeah so far my limited experience on the SU, is that it fly's like a rock with lead weights whilst towing an aircraft carrier and I just seem to loose speed dramatically :(

New system built and running Arma2 pretty damn well =)
Phenom II 720BE @3.3Ghz, 4gig RAM, 4870 1 Gig, Win7 x64 running at 1680x1050 all high bar normal shadow detail and 1500 draw distance. Occassional hitching when loading new objectives, but I think that's likely down to my old HDD than anything else.

Only issue I had was launching the game in the first place. For some reason starting the game put my monitor straight out of range. For anyone else having this problem, browse to your Arma2 folder in My Documents and edit the Arma2.cfg file to a resolution and refresh-rate your monitor supports. Mine had defaulted to 75hz (which my monitor cannot display) for some reason - very odd as I had it running on XP32 two days ago on my old system without an issue (albeit rather poorly).

Great game though, enjoying it a lot.

ok just updated bios to F4G and i have lost my overclocking Bios that was saved to Cmos i have asked overclocker to mail me the settings i hate being a noob at this overclocking stuff lol (gets ready for the flameing)
