I know it sounds like a "cop out" but you need to try it for yourself and see.
First things first, before you attempt to play it and pass judgement on it as a game your system needs to be able to run it well. Depends on a load of different variables how you will be able to run it.
Once you get passed that, again, depending on many variables you will either like it or not. The aiming system can be strange, it's not like any other "normal" FPS.
The entire game gets quite complex further on when you start building bases and buying units etc.
You will die a lot.
Make sure you save game regularly.
AI can be seriously stupid at times, both on the part of your own team as well as enemy AI.
The control interface is quite confusing, as far as the orders menus go.
All that aside, it's a fantastic game, the scope is HUGE. I'm loving every minute of it even after a few issues I have had with the gameplay and certain missions.
