Cheers for that, just a one more question.

Is the block held down solely by the sticky pads or did you use the threaded rods springs etc with the pads solely for protection?

I just want to be sure before I take the plunge and buy one. :)

The pads are for protection only, What i found was as the CPU socket is more or less Parrell with the Chipset it caused a little force on the tubing. so i didnt want to risk damaging the resistors when installing it.

I still used the spring and kit what comes with the DD maixe 4 kit.

Please use the pads mate i cant stress enough how easy it is to damage the resistors. As i know someone that Killed this exact board from not using some protecion around the Chipset core "ie the sticky pads"

Ill get more pics up mate with the block installed. :D

*EDITED*
Ok more Pictures added

No problem mate,

If there are any other pics you want taken let me know.

DFI Expert Chipset Water Cooled

http://4qman.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?p=135#135

The Chipset block does fit but one of the screws leans one way, which doesnt
cause any problems.

Im getting the same temps i had when i had it on Asus and Msi board so its working correctly.

To be honest im just fussy, altho see how close the screw is to the parts on the BFG card. Be carefull when installing it and it will work out perfect. :D

Well that my rig pretty much up and running. I know there been a few people that had a few issues with the expert but i was fortunate to not come across any issues directly about the board.

Just followed the research i done from various forums and peeps. Managed to get this babe up first time without any issues. It probably one of the easiest boards i installed. Solid and smooth.

Like to thank the guys that gave help and James Miller in particular.

Terrific Board guys. Highly recommended.

gl dude report back on your clocks

yeah, wouldnt mind hearing your overclocks, got a CABNE myself, need to get my ram to overclock, complicated unfort, looking for 2.8 on air, fingers crossed.

there a neat little program that calculates ram speed if your using a divider.

I know the theory so hopefully putting into practise shouldn't be too hard.

Hi,
I've just installed this mobo and I'm very happy with it so far.
One question though:

On boot DRAM led comes on (as it should)
The 4 diagnostic led's count down to all off (as they should)
But the standby LED stays on, so both the DRAM and stanby leds are both on?

Is that right? Could you post what yours does?

Thanks in advance!

Yep thats correct dude mine does also.

It sound like your running all sweet. :D

ted34, depends on what inputs you have to your speaker system, i use the realtek ac97 spdif out connected to my 5.1 amplifier which has spdif input, sound is ace, cables are like £6 on auction sites, my speaker system cost £150, it does everything and sounds ace, wouldnt mind the pro x-fi card, but not spending £200 on a sound card! the £90 x-fi dosent even have spdif out, what a rip off, it has lots of probs with nf4 boards too!

got my ram to overclock, i tried them in the orange slots and now i can overclock it!:).

updated first post with expert info, added info about ram slots.

Hey TF, does the orange slots not mean that it runs T2?
Thats what I get from the manual anyway.

not sure mate, it said t1 when i had my ram in there, think tccd is orange slots, bh5 in yellow slots.

Ignore me mate, I knew there was a reason mother wanted me to pay special attention to punctuation at school :D.

From the manual:

A DIMM's SPD is originally fixed at 1T. When modules are insrted in DIMM 1 and 3, the SPD must be 2T or higher for better system stability.

Which of course I took as:

A DIMM's SPD is originally fixed at 1T when modules are insrted in DIMM 1 and 3.

Orange is 1T mate, good luck!

just got new rig setup and started o/c but i cant get past 250. The memory is on a divider so not that and LDT/FSB is set to 3x. Dont think its cpu as its stable at 250 x 11 but as soon as i go past 250 even with the cpu/fsb at 10 it bsod as soon as getting into windows. Must be missing something. ldt is at 1.3v, chipset at 1.64v

Ted,

errm thats a little strange. All id say do is go on a big divider on the ram and lower the CPU multi then see if it boots.

I cant see it being the Board, also LDT and chipset i have exactly as you just said and im at 300FSB.

I didn't know you had 2 choices for audio. I used the Karaja module which i fitted onto the board directly that gave me 6 jack ports. tbh i never knew what the S/PDIF-in/-out jacks were? Hence I take it i am not using the Realtek AC97 as i did pickthat as my audio options in windows for Teamspeak? Should i change that back to promary audio device?

Confused now

the karajan is the audio module that plugs into the board, the 5 or 6 jacks are the karajan, the realtek ac97 is the spdif/out. if you have a spdif cable and amplifier that has spdif input then uninstall the nvidia audio drivers, install the realtek drivers and connect the spdif from the board to your amplifier with a coaxial cable, you will get proper dts sound.

note: you need the audio module plugged in for the realtek sound to work too as the processor for it is on the external module.

so in other words if you dont have a better pci sound card like audigy 4 or x-fi then you need to connect the audio module to your board.

updated first post again now.

Dunno what i did. Turned everything off and then restarted and changed settings again. Put Ht down to 2x as well and was able to boot past 250. Weird. Managed to get 2.75 out of my old 3700 on 1.59v (1.55 + 102.4%). Just tryin another 3700 which is brand new and thats at 2.97ghz at 1.472v and has been stable so far on prime95 stress test (5hrs and still going). Did superpi 32 in 25m48s and havent started tweaking ram yet. Looks like i have a good clocker.

One thing was at 1.425v the 2.75ghz 3700 idled at 16 degrees and load was 30 degrees. This good clocking chip idles at 22 degrees and load is 43 degrees (room temp is 13 degrees - scottish weather and bad heating). Still good temps but shows how much cooler a good IHS contact makes on cooling. Will put some fresh artic silver on and see what happens then.

Has anyone managed to fit a xp120 on this board and still use orange ram slots. According to thermalright it does fit but if i put it so the pipes face the ram then the pipes push against the ram and if i put it the opposite way then i cant put the ram stick in. Could try putting it on when the rams already in but its going to be tight. Just wondering if anyone else was running the xp120 on this board?
