Good game there. Ref made some weird decisions though. No yellow for RVP wiping you out but trips the kid and gets one. Nasri was late on you (by an hour) and only got a yellow and constant freekick for little trips when there was advantage to be played

Ref was really getting on my nerves at the start, whistling for anything and everything on both sides!

Knew I was in trouble when you bought out speedy gonzalez!! lol :)
 
Ok I bought a gold pack, are fitness and training cards any good? Is it best to build my gold squad around my best player from the gold pack?
 
Yeah once that through balls played its either have a very fast player at the back, bring the keeper out very quickly or wipe him out. Love him as my sub. Got better rated players in my team but hes to good to not put on

Roband, gg mate, thanks to Sagna, well in fairness, hart, lol, sagna had my shot at his feet and hart dived and pushed it through his feet :D lol

If you'd have not got Toure sent off early I think it might have been different!
 
Lame, I entered a tourney and it was stuck on loading for like 10mins, so i quit fifa and went back in and took a hit to my DNF :(((((((((
 
GG Sonny. Nice team, completely outpaced me, how do you begin to even get a team that good!? it seems an impossible feat for me atm. Whats the best online tourny for someone with a crap gold with some silver team?

He's awesome in the air and loves an early cross into the box to run onto. His price has literally halved over the last week or so too :D

i started off with a brazil team 41212,

i just bought gold players for a max of 300 coins, when their contract was done, i discarded them for 300 coins and re-bought them.

this basically meant free players and free contracts, this soon meant i had quite a few coins, then i decided to do some trading/upgrading.

after quite a while i had 3 decent brazil teams (first team, 2nd team, backups for injuries).

after i had gotten as far as i could with brazil through trading, and playing, i think i had every decent player apart from kaka and maicon, i decided to go into serie A and 4222 (cheaper formation).

i soon had all the best serie A players, continued trading too, trading was the most boring part, it would take hours an hours of mind numbing flicking through rows and rows of cards, until i found the one i wanted at a decent price, i would then sell on for a minimum of 700 coin profit.

then i did some juggling for a tourney, lost a lot of coins, buying and selling players due to tax, now i have 2 teams with zero backups, if a player gets injured i need to go buy a healing card. this means i save on contracts/fitness cards/backup players.

now i have just been using my 2 teams to win tournies, gaining 500 coins per match and 1K for a tourny win. i could win the 2k tourny if i wanted to, but the guys in that tourny have teams worth millions sometimes, my teams are worth about 250-300K altogether, less than what drogba sells for i have 2 full teams capable of beating anyone.

im now trying to save up for happy hour packs because i cannot upgrade any player in my team for less than 100K.

i have recently started doing custom tactics and custom formations, its amazing how much better a team gets when you nail down the formation and tactics to your style of play.

i won with ease by the way, he is starting out so his squad had nobody who could trouble my 2nd team, once he has a decent team ill give him a rematch.
 
Tim, toure was sent off for two nothing tackles.
Then, I was throwing it out too often (drunkenly forgetting Hart can't throw for ****).

And that ridiculous OG was the nail in the coffin! Gg though

Yup. There are sometimes several versions of players. If the (gold) player has the player ratings in black with a gold top, then he is a "normal" version of the player. If the player ratings are in gold, then that is the "rare" version of the player (which really isn't that rare to be honest, as a ton of players only have rare versions and not normal versions available). Some players actually have 2 rare versions, such as Edison Cavani, who I believe has one card rated at 80, and another at 84, and Thiago Silva, who has one at 83 and one at 84.

Then you get the In Form (IF) version of players. Every week, EA release upgraded players in their team of the week. These players are often monsters, with nearly every stat improved. These cards are pretty much all black, with gold writing, and will sell for a lot more than the standard versions, even if there's not a huge difference between the two versions. For example, Drogba is rated 88 overall, and the rare version (there is no "normal" Drogba) sells for around 300,000 coins. The IF version of him is rated 89 overall, and will sell for at least 3 million coins in most cases.

Had a belting game last night just before going to bed. Was using my Ligue 1 team against someone who was using a better rated team, a Prem team I think it was. I took the early lead, deservedly so, and controlled the game. Just on the half hour mark, my defence decides to stop playing properly, and I concede 3 goals in the space of 10 minutes. In frustration, I slide in on him with Toulalan, and get rightly booked. I go in at half-time, after bossing it, 3-1 down.

I take control in the 2nd half, and pull one back in the hour mark thanks to a brilliant volley from Gourcuff....

Toulalan then breaks up an attack with what looks like a clean tackle, but the ref sees it otherwise, and not only gives a free kick, but a 2nd yellow and an early bath for Toulalan. Down to 10 men, and without a holding midfielder, he starts trying to kill the game off while I try and hit him on the break. In the 87th minute, Jimmy Briand plays a perfectly timed 1-2 with Lopez, and goes clean through. He holds his nerve and slots it in the top corner. In the 91st minute I get a corner, and Lopez's header is saved by the keeper, knocked up in the air, and Gourcuff and a defender go for it. The ball hits the defender on the back of the head, falls to Gourcuff's feet, who slots in gleefully for the injury time winner. 4-3, and no time for the other guy to come back. I was made up!

To top it all off, he was actually a decent bloke who congratulated me on the comeback. I tend not to find many of them, only sore losers who try and injure my players the moment I go a couple of goals up. All in all, my best match of the night :D

I'm in some wicked form at the moment though, won my last 16 games in a row, with only 2-3 of them being close. I've absolutely battered some players, including a 9-0 and a 9-1, and someone quitting on me when I was 5-0 up after 30 mins. Hopefully this carries on, winning is much more fun than losing :D
