Haven't heard of this? Where have you seen it (not competitors but review / news sites)?Scoobie Dave said:Anyone using the DS3 (rev 3.3) motherboard here?
Not even sure if OC are stocking the rev 3.3 yet, but I would like to know the advantages over the rev. 2 boards (if any).
The only driver would be for the chipset, which you can grab from the Gigabyte website. The Intel website may have a newer release as that one is November 2006.TheDean said:Anyone know where and how to update the graphics chipset for the DS3?
Apparently this is causing issues with Vista x64 and the new nvidia divers...
Yeah keep it at 2x, which is 1:1. You can use CPU-Z to double check the dividerbooyaka said:however, i was wondering how i run my ram 1:1 as it should be able to push a fair way with the set i have. When i set the System Memory Multiplier to "2x", in the bios, is this the same as like running a divider on an AMD system??? should i leave this on AUTO?
AFAIK yes, the only difference are the capacitors.FatRakoon said:I mean... Is the S3 a good clocker like the DS3?
Any info on this? The Gigabyte site has it, but it just seems to be a cpu model update?Cob said:F11b has been knocking about for a few days. It's a beta, but it's meant to be solid.

Hey there,IceWolf said:hi - i also haven't built for a while and was recommended this board.
I'm going to get a E6600 core 2 duo 2.4ghz - just wondering what speed ram is stock for that chip, and therefore what speed ram to get for an easy 3.0ghz overclock? I was looking at corsair 2gb XMS2 6400C4 but i am tempted by 4gb of something instead.
anyone using the onboard sound? i only need 5.1 so i'm hoping this will be good enough for games since i have had no end of problems with my audigy 2 drivers.
Yep. Let us know how you get onCS||nuTs said:Just RMA'd a abit board and ordered a DS3 to partner a e2140 and Crucial Ballistix pc5300 . I take it all the boards being sold now are rev 3.3?
You need to create a MSDOS start up disk and put the flash program and bios file onto it (or another spare disk). Once in DOS, just goto A: and type "A:\flash895 965PDSP.F12.bin".warren_1979 said:Another question. I'll be updating the BIOS using Q-Flash from a floppy. Does the floppy need to be a MS-DOS start up disk? I don't think it does I'm just double checking.
edit - I've downloaded the latest bios, unzipped the package and its given me 3 files (Flash895, autoexec, 965PDSP.F12). Do I put all these onto the floppy disk?
Both the northbridge and southbridge get very hot, but this is normal. Just make sure you have a case fan blowing over the board area in general and it will be fine.warren_1979 said:Hi. I've got a Gigabyte 965P-DS3 rev 3.3 and I'm thinking about overclocking my e2140. I've heard the southbridge can get very hot and when I was installing my 8800GTS I noticed that it was literally sitting on top of the southbridge, bascially making it impossible to put a fan on there if I wanted. I'm also worried about my GTS sitting right on the southbridge if it gets really hot.
Could it melt anything off the GTS? Would a little fan pointing at the southbridge help?
Thanks.
