***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Dam just had my first crash. Whilst on a driving chase mission, went to aim whilst I was toggled onto focus and GTA V has stopped working. Pretty sure it was the comination of what the focus and aim though can't be bothered trying it again. Will toggle out of focus before engaging next time.

Anndd I'm done for the night. Been on since 20:30 with a little break in the middle.

So far, wow, beautifully done, so far I cant fault it. The only thing I have had to do is reduce the draw distance by a notch on each slider as I had a little jitter going into a heavy texture area but that that is being picky.

I let the game choose my settings which put everything on very high except for the msaa thing ir whatever its called. Nothing is enabled in advanced graphics though but regardless, it still looks amazing!

I am loving the concept behind playing as different characters as an interlinked storyline, really well put together.

I am sticking to my guns though, not going on mp till the weekend at least! Really want to get stuck into sp, not just the main mission but the sides and general exploring as well.

i havnt even created an online character and played it yet, keeps crashing/frozen black screen/reverting to windowed mode/running out of memory/over heating
cba to sort it out now, il update gfx drivers in the morning and try again

Game is really great fun - not enjoyed a game this much in a long time

I was intending to do lots of SP before touching online but its really great fun. Bought a $500k Apartment along with a 911 and a Charger (I think).

Just finished a 5 hr long session of playing this, looked at the clock and realised it said 04:45 lol :D

Great game, R* really nailed the optimisations (SLI works great too) and the graphics are incredible :)

Oh how I can't wait to wake up tomorrow and install my new gpu:D 2 more hours at work before I can start contemplating the "the sooner I go to bed the sooner I get to play Gta at max setting " idea :(

Im running into a few issues, on the first mission where you chase after the boat the game freezes at the same point while driving, also had this on another mission. I have reset all the graphic options to default but don't think this is it as I have played the game for hours yesterday with out it crashing only when I went to start on a mission.

I feel like creating a new thread entitled 'Noobies guide to GTAV online' as like others I don't really know where to start. Even my 13 year old Son won't even help his old man!.

On a side note it would appear GTAV has claimed its first victim....well at least here. After watching some random Youtube stream earlier, I took the Blimp up at night to view the city in its full splender. I had my light on that sits above my monitors and decided to switch it off so I could watch it in total darkness. I then decided great, I'll switch the light on and then I stupidly knocked over a full glass of wine all over my Corsair K70 for the second time!.

Anywho, I am hoping my new 970 coming tomorrow will keep my mind off this squidgy, horrible to type on Logitech G15 keyboard that has unfortunately has had to make yet another appearance.

TL;DR Don't drink and drive????
yes this would be a great idea,I've not played any of the gta's before,am totally lost but having fun.can someone start a thread noobie online tips.

Been in story mode since half eight last night, superb game, super strong story and interweaving of characters, I love it. Popping of for a cup of coffee and sex with the Mrs, because life is beautiful, God bless and keep you all.

Think after the best part of 12h on it yesterday I was played out by 9pm. Did some SP and chilled.

Need to get my head around MP, mainly need to figure out how to get us all into a Private Lobby and then go from there.

As for "ringing a contact for jobs" I don't have any in my phone, only rank 10 so might be why.

Anyone else expecting more traffic on the roads? It was talked about by the devs before launch but Im not noticing a great deal more than in GTA4 to be honest, I have those three sliders for density etc maxed out.

I'm hoping someone can help me?

I have a good system for this and many other games.
but it's quite unplayable atm for GTA V online.

my system is:
i7-3930K @ 3.20GHz
64GB Ram
X2 Crossfire AMD R920x 4GB's
SSD drives and plenty more others hard drives.

updated drivers to latest.

system runs game on Max default settings and looks great, but I keep getting dropped frames and it's almost like it's trying to load lots, you notice it way more when your driving and it cannot cope with going fast.

I have no idea what's causing it, I've tried lowering the settings and I still get this frame rate drop, it's not smooth and I can't play like this at all...

any advice or help with settings would be greatfully recieved.

just wow.... left my pc running al night downloading the game. Woke up this morning to Installation Failed!

Should be done by time I'm back from work though.
