***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Good fun again tonight. Sadly online seems to be a bit of a beast to figure out.

Few more hours reading up I think.

Races are great fun!

Baptism of fire for me, although I did get in one mission where we got to shoot stuff and we succeeded in getting away.
Sorry about robbing the gun store while we were there, I'm not quite sure how it happened TBH but thanks for bailing me out :D

Also sorry to the OcUK guy who's car I shot up before he showed me his garage and let me total one of his cars on a drunken rampage

My god... The loading between missions in the online multiplayer is mind numbingly boring! It even takes as much time going from the mission quitting out back to multiplayer :(

^This, Half the time I get an invite while waiting to spawn and by the time I spawn the mission is full and underway.

BTW to the ocuk regulars asking me about my car, it is the Coil Voltic, I couldn't remember the exact name on ts so made something up that sounded similar, well sort of.... :p It certainly is a beast, I love how quiet it sounds, reminds me of the batmobile from batman begins especially when he goes into "stealth mode":

Going to need to rank up fast and get more money so that I can buy myself a lovely tank

You really wanted me to see that car last night didn't you! You seemed to be constantly picking me up for a ride, I was never quite sure where we were going though.:cool:

Helicopter controls seem very weird, it just seems to randomly wobble about in the sky when i stole one from the airport.

Started one mission involving a Heli with kiwi. The thing just sat there in the sky and I could only find the keys for YAW, and spent most of the time falling to my death when I accidentally hit f. :(

Overall it was good fun and had me laughing a few times. Will play again.

The benchmark is short 10 second bursts and isn't really representative of the load of actually streaming all those assets in game.

Hard to say whether it is gpu or cpu related really. Seems to vary from person to person. If you have MSAA enabled, disable it as that will be a large performance hit along with shadows.

my cpu hits max of 545-50% so thats 3 cores + 3 Threads maxed out. roughly

so its definitely Quad core Enabled :)

80-120 fps with everything on High but no MSAA - game looks stunning and the cards handle it very well, temps are around 50C-70C for mine (EVGA SC ACX) and the usage is around 98%.

Sounds good cant wait to get home and have a go, whats the online bit of the game like as i never played that on the PS3

Most amusing thing about OCUK is the community is probably producing some hilarious GTA V vids but we can't link to them due to the shear level of profanity within :)

Put a couple up last night of us racing and it's just expletive after expletive lol

Anyone know how to make a fat character? it is down to who you select as parents? Tried to make mine look like me last night and it's fine but he needs way more meat on his bones.

S'ok, my usual level of driving had left me by that point, I'm normally a half decent getaway driver.

I think I have figured out how to start a private lobby now so will test it tonight.

Private lobbys are easy enough to set up. From single player go to Menu -> Online -> GTA Online -> Friends/Crew closed session and boom.

Yeah now I have found it out I can't believe how easy they are!

I'm such a noob at online, needs me a decent online guide!

Must admit - a quick blast last night and very please with my 6950 (unlocked to 6970) 2gb card. Ran 1920x1080 with no stutter/slowdown etc - ok most of the "advanced" gfx settings are off for now but considering I was tempted to spend £200 on a new card, I think I stick with this for a bit longer. Will test more today but so far so good.

Would be interested to see what sort of settings you're using. I'm using a 7850 2gb and with the settings i like (fxaa, msaa x4, some other bits) i'm getting around 35 fps.

will confirm later - literally fired it up for 10 mins to test and seemed ok - will do more checks later and let you know.

You can link it to youtube but you can't embed the video. Yeah I know.........................

Oh and if you want Iron sights

"When you are in first person view, hold the right mouse button to aim and scroll the mouse wheel forward."

I probably missed it in the options.

This game has been polished extremely well and I am impressed with what R* have produced. Coming from being a GTA noob this is brilliant fun. Spent most of the evening getting to grips with online mode with my bro playing a few games and pulling off a few store jobs. Not laughed so much in ages... especially when still getting to grips with the controls and accidently pressing the Y or F button whilst driving and jumping out the car :D

Looking forward to levelling up to do heists and finding out more about the game.

Last night as I was sitting thinking of the amount of money I've put into this game over 3 different systems, for just a graphical updates. It got me thinking about things they really missed out on though.

For instance, that Casino needs to be opened!

It would have been nice to have a moving house market. Seeing houses go up for sale, some then sold ect. Along with a market which changes after you complete the game, depending on how you play your game.

Even having dog racing that you can watch and bet on at that oval track would have been a nice addition.

What other things do people feel they missed out?
