***Official GTX 670 thread***

I'd laugh if you drink too much of that and don't wake up in time for the delivery :D

Will do soon, though i doubt i'll get time this evening.......i guess i should put this giant noctua NH-D14 to good use :p

With how easy it is to clock Sandy Bridges it's silly not to, you could easily just whack the multiplier up to 42 and run a quick bench, it should easily do that without any other adjustments.

Well all you guys are making me envious now. DPD said the time is 'an approximation' and then proceeded to charge me £12 to get it with me before 1pm tomorrow.

So I'm spending the evening with my friend below while reading over all of the comments and reviews on the 670's from you guys :p

lol, I like your style!

Don't drive, the mrs is out all night too unfortunately. Some midnight charity walk of some sort? So no lift, the depot is a good 10 miles or so away crammed in the far corner of an industrial estates maze.

I'll just make sure I pass out next to the door :p

Now to figure out what games my macbook's mighty 320m can handle

Whisky and porn sounds a good combo :p

Missus on a charity walk? sounds like you need to fiddle with their route so they go past the DPD depot :p

So you mean even if in the product description it states core boost is xxxx it could infact be more or slightly less?

It will almost certainly be more than the product states it will boost to (I havn't seen anything that is not significantly higher), but how much more will depend on the quality of the chip you have.

Thats pretty much all the 320M can handle to be fair :p

Its in a town just outside of the city.

On a plus note I've just ordered a monster of a kebab :D

IF this was 'merica I could probably sue DPD for turning me into a fat alcoholic. As if I had the card I probably wouldn't be eating/drinking much at all. Oh I'll probably indulge in some gambling too, see if I can make that £12 back haha.

So I just got my windforce. Can't fault the delivery company. They came exactly when they said they would. However, which monkey packed the cards??

Seriously when you buy a near enough £400 quid product you don't expect brown tape to be stuck all over the new box! Very careless guys. To me, the little details really matter so please sort it out for future packing.

Will install and see what numbers this card can demonstrate.

Unlucky mate, seems you got a bit of a dud one there. Anybody else got the kfa2 ex oc one?

Its not a dud, out of the box stock speed is 1200 MHz with boost on the KFA2 EX OC. +50 on the GPU is 1280 Mhz, +30 is 1250 Mhz, +25 is 1240 MHz.

Its actually working now at either:

+30, +500 for 1250 / 7000 or,
+25, +600 for 1240 / 7200

I havnt tried any speeds between +30 and +50 yet, so it works at 1250 / 7000, but not at 1280 / 6000.

Got mine working at
+115, +293 for 1291 / 6580. Can probably push the memory but I am not sure what the point is. It doesn't help raise the core, currently I am keeping them in the same ratios as they set themselves at stock. Note changing the voltage seems to make no difference at all to the overclockability.

So yours only managed a 50 Mhz overclock on the core above stock speeds? Thats only a 4.2% increase over stock speeds, which is dissapointing to me as a tweaker/overclocker. Still excellent performance though, glad you are pleased with it :)

Some results for my KFA2 GeForce GTX 670 EX OC.

First is out of the box stock results:

Next, over clocked to 1300/7080:

oc.jpg

The overclocked result is with the fan running around 60% and GPU hovers around 66c in Heaven. I do recommend using custom fan settings and not the default if you're overclocking or not. During the stock run the GPU got to 72c or so, but then fan never left around 40% and was still silent. At 60% its audible not not distracting and keeps the GPU at a more reasonable temperature, even when overclocking.

What speeds was it hitting at stock? seems to improve quite well with increased memory speeds.

Boost clock at stock was 1202. With the default fan/power target settings it did drop that back to 1188 when the card hit 70c.

So youre average FPS in heaven has gone up by 11.8% even though your core speed has only increased by 8.3%. You must get a decent gain in heaven from overclocking memory on these cards :)

Glad to see everyone enjoying there cards. After some silly newbie mistakes, im enjoying mine. I ran all the benchmarks now im sat here waiting for steam to dl my games....its gonna take a while:p
