***Official GTX 670 thread***

I can't help but feel that the 8+6 power pins aren't really helping, but perhaps I am interpreting the info incorrectly. I have not seen the power % go above 76% on my highest oc. The voltage however is locked at 1.175v when at load, and you cannot raise it any higher. Fans at full hold it in the 50s, on auto with the default profile they will reach mid 60s. Really it seems that if I were able to raise voltages, then I could clock the card higher. Surely I would only need the extra power if the power % were reaching the max, which it isn't, or if you were increasing volts which would increase power draw, which I can't.

So I just got my windforce. Can't fault the delivery company. They came exactly when they said they would. However, which monkey packed the cards??

Seriously when you buy a near enough £400 quid product you don't expect brown tape to be stuck all over the new box! Very careless guys. To me, the little details really matter so please sort it out for future packing.

Will install and see what numbers this card can demonstrate.

Can you also check if the fans are sucking in air to the card or pulling out from the card thanks

Ok I got a bad one :(

Same my core won't clock high, I can do around +35 on the core but it only ever wants to boost up to 1250Mhz and any higher it gets really unstable but the ram goes up to like 7490Mhz

I'm impressed with the card to be honest what it gets at stock, 1058Mhz boost clock on the box and it was automatically boosting itself to 1185Mhz where as the reference KFA 670 boosts up to 980 stock, to me that is a nice improvement. Worth the price difference I don't know but the fans are silent.

So at the end of the day I wouldn't say "a bad one" just not as versatile, I mean you got what you paid for you just didn't get more than what you paid for haha

Yeah seems my core clock limit is 1291. I simply can't get to 1300. From the looks of it around the web quite a few can get just above 1300, so I don't think I have a particularly great chip, but not neccesarily bad. Shame, i'm not getting anywhere near my max TDP.

I have my power set to 125%, but as soon as my GPU temperature goes over 70 my voltage reduces to 1.162v, and GPU clock to 1228 (from 1.175 and 1250 Mhz).

Is there any way to stop this happening?

Test it to see if it is throttling back due to temperature. Does it do the same thing with fans on full?

Thats part of the boost design I think bhavv, when the chip hits a thermal limit under boost it changes the clock on the fly. I am curious if this is only restricted at bios level?

Looks like water is the way to go for a high clock on these ;)

So do people think the reviewer cards might have been cherry picked?

If so not very good cherry picking, Hexus managed 1242Mhz, end users have them already over 1300MHz and a bad clocker is still well above 1200Mhz, whereas 6+6 card max at 1200Mhz and some only manage 1100Mhz.

Damn, i think i have a problem....I'm hoping it's driver related though.

First time i ran heaven benchmark as soon as it got to the end my PC restarted, random and never happened previously, it ran fine after that and i just thought it might be a one off....just been playing world of tanks and it did that thing it normally does when the drivers crash and restart (black scren, flickering for a moment then comes back on) then 1 minute later, PC reboots itself.

Time to wipe the drivers and try again i guess

EDIT:
Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

:/

mrbios :D

I'm in the ocuk company, not that i ever play the company battles.

Darn, I'm trying to source players for the clan I'm in, we just broke the 50 member mark after being up and running for a month. Tier X players hard to come across, and ones with more than one even rarer.

I don't think this card is tested at all, considering my laptop 8600 can run WoT perfectly lol.

My heart skipped a beat when you replied to my post... like a bubble has burst or a flap of skin breeched. I'm not disappointed in my card what so ever, quite the opposite but then again... when the card already boosts itself to the near limit its quite good. Shocked how much the memory ramps up though.
