@kenofstephen - can you clear up what the 4-pin molex is for on the motherboard? Is it for extra power or for eSATA like on Gigabyte boards?

Got to be one of the worst boards i have owned, mem dividers are fooked.will not go above 400fsb on a chip that will do well over 400 and what is going on with the vcore volts if i set 1.4 in bios still only gives 1.28 ? on the latest bios.
Cant wait to send it back![]()
I think it's OK to debate value for money against other boards. I've just bought two X1950Pro's for £90 Incl. the pair and I think they'll run very well in Crossfire on this. All the P35 boards have one x16 and one x4 slot and the performance hit against an X38 board with two x16 channels is something between 7 and 20% depending on the resolution.
I think it's a bit off to post here if you don't have the board along the lines of 'I was going to buy one of these but it's gone up a fiver, so now I'm going to buy something else'. If you think that then by all means buy something else, but don't trash a perfectly good board because you think it should be a bit cheaper. I bought mine on the day of release and it was an absolute dog. I said so, and J&W fixed the issues and now it's a good board, and you have a direct channel of communication to J&W about what you want to see in the BIOS through this thread. You'll either see that as a benefit or not, and buy accordingly.
I think it is perfectly valid to discuss the board based on value, especially given that it is an "OCUK Value" motherboard, and not J&W as such.
I am NOT trashing the board, I still think it is a very capable board and take your review and work at face value WJA. I however start think that given the likely price of a branded board in comparison to this and then the likely hood that that the x38 will be just as good as the IP35 (not a given), I may as well wait.
I still am recommending this board to a person at work who is intent on building a new PC, and wants an 3870X2 to play with, and if I didn't think the board was any good, I can assure you, I wouldn't be recommending it.
