*****OFFICIAL OcUK/JW IP35 Pro THREAD*****

I was wondering what the highest safe voltage an e8400 can take and the max safe temperature. Also, I have pc6400 OCZ rev. 2 ram - whats the max safe voltage for it? Thanks

As far as I am aware there is no maximum 'safe' voltage. Anything over the vID (stock) is dodgy and the box very clearly says (on mine at least) 1.225V Max.

I'm putting the full 1.58V through mine at the moment and when I swap over in a few minutes I'll be trying for more than 4.5GHz on a Gigabyte X38-DS4 and I reckon that will need more than 1.6V (in BIOS). By overclocking you risk damaging the CPU. I would normally say don't worry about voltage, however there have been reports of electron migration damage through overvolting Wolfdales so if your stable overclocks start dropping for no reason beware!

As for temperature, Intel shut it down automatically at 105C for protection purposes so that's what they think is safe.

Your RAM (assuming it's this stuff) is rated 1.8-2.0V but OCZ allow 10% so 2.2V is the maximum 'safe' voltage.

Hi Guy's

I’m have some issues with the onboard audio with my IP35. I've done a search in this thread but can’t seem to find anyone with the same problem.
I cannot get the Realtek Audio to install, the CD rom that came with the motherboard runs ok, but there’s no audio listed under windows (I've run the install twice now)!

How do you install it and get it to work? This is a brand new install of windows XP SP3.

In BIOS I have "OnChip Audio Controller" Enabled!

Only other card I have installed at present is an EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS (512-P3-E841-AE-CrysisUK)

Any Ideas ?

PS. I’ve also tried installing a newer driver (WDM_R186 2.11.15.0) that I found at that doesn’t work either.

How are you installing it? They usually come as exe files?

http://www.jwele.com/UserFiles/download/WDM_R186.exe is the latest.

It should simply be a case of just running it.

Is this a clean install or are you upgrading from the P5B in your signature? If it's an upgrade you may need to clean up the audio drivers.

Oh - and it definitely is the OcUK/J&W IP35-Pro, isn't it?

wow SP3!
there is no SP3 driver yet I think.

Hi

It's the IP35 (NOT PRO) "Abit IP35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard"
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-131-AB&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=

The installs I've tried are .exe

It’s a clean install of XP, this is a new machine I have along side my P5B (Changed my Sig now)

PS. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread!

Ah - right, this is hugely confusing but Abit make 3 boards called IP35 - the IP35-E, the straight IP35 and the IP35-Pro. Those are made by Abit, a company based in Taiwan.

This thread is about a motherboard called the J&W IP35-Pro. It's made by J&W Electronics, a Chinese company, and it's a completely different motherboard made by a different company, in a different country.

The drivers you want are these ones;

http://www.uabit.com/index.php?opti...&subcategory=1003&model=382&product_name=IP35

Hopefully, that should see you running properly.

I just found this on another forum! So will try SP2 tomorrow.
Thanks for the reply.

There is a problem with SP3 and the UAA device driver. It hasn't been updated to work with SP3 yet. You could install XP with SP2, install your drivers, then install SP3.

actually 5 ;) also IP35P & IP35V.

The MS UAA problem is common across many mobos from many manufacturers though.

This heatsink - Scythe Ninja-PLUS Rev B or Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme compatible with this mobo? Also IP35-S?

I've had both versions of this motherboard and the Thermalright one fits fine on both, I did however have to remove the duct from the side of my case to get the side back on and even then it only just fit in my case.

Not according to the picture/stats on OcUK website! The Pro has a second BIOS chip, second LAN and solid caps. None of them might be important to you.

Ooooh just been looking and seems a AMD 790FX based motherboard is on the way. Now if only OcUK stocked the RS780UVD-AM2+ and JW-RD790X-AM2+ I'd be a happier person when building AMD machines :D

of cause wja96, back on topic am wondering what are other people obtaionign on the fsb side of things with the wolfdale cpus? and with what ram,

I am currently stable @ 465 x 8 multiplier with the geil 800mhz standard 4-4-4-12 (5-5-5-15 and 938 mhz 2.2 volts overcloclocked) reason for asking is i cant get the cpu a mhz higher running stable with even crazy amount of voltage wondering if i need some 1000+mhz rated ram?

If it totally fails to boot, I'd say RAM. If it boots then dies very suddenly I'd say one CPU core is weaker than the other, but the fact that you're using high voltages says it's more than likely RAM to me.
