hmmm for sections

Each zone needs multiple rooms challenges traps and mazes. some that the players do as a group (ie the entrance puzzles/puzzles where they all move as a group) and most where a single contestant enters the room and the rest go to an observation/control room and guide him/throw switches for him to progress.

A couple of puzzle ideas:

* Mario style jumping puzzle between piston powered columns that raise / lower automatically.
Variation - use levers / pressure pads to activate platorms lowering / raising.

* Co - op puzzle: One player has to go through a rat maze puzzle while someone outside raises / lowers blocking walls & platforms to allow access (or squash) the rat :D Check out this portal 2 rat maze co-op puzzle - made for Minecraft!

I have started the doc tefal.
When the doc section on FT site is working i will add it.

It Is currently a mix of the 2 posts you did with your ideas put into each section
but when the doc i created and new ideas are way come up we can then modify the main doc with the info for easy ref

I've realise my problem is i often have an over arching idea but then muddle though and end up having to redo things often though trial an error :p
 
well i am guessing it will be a lot of trial and error any ways but just with a team of us :D

hmm i wonder if it possible to get a recording set-up for when we do start the work
and then we can make a time laps version of what gets done :D

I'm happy to join in with the maze thing too although I'll need to be told what to do!

Would diamonds be the temporary prizes for each puzzle and if so, what would they buy? Would it be time in some sort of grab as much as you can thing as per the show, or something else?
 
yeah this place is going to cover a huge area. from above etc it'll probably be pretty ugly but as the victims...er "contestants" will always be inside it we can control what they see (ie they look put the window and see a lush jungle, when just out of view there's a giant cobble cube containing red stone for a room :p

if we had mine cart mania it would be easier to implement checking of items put into shoots (we'll have to just work on people being honest...and judicial use of the nuke inventory command :p

I think for the finale we might be best making it into one uber puzzle where say all 4 people have to solve their own component to then solve the final pieces and receive the loot as if we did it like the show you'd just stand still and get everything :p
 
oh hey that's a point anyone talented with note blocks?

we need someone to make a device that plays the theme tune :D

ah it is easy to solve this.
make most of the room go down a slope to the puzzle
while the top view is nice and clean all the redstone stuff can stay below ground for the most part.

when i am on later i will work on mini room designs.
I already have a mini light room with piston and glow stone.
might work in making a puzzle for the floor using leaver/pressure plates
that will light up a grid of some kind.
 
yeah sod that yrth the red stone takes up huge areas sod digging massive rooms for it all :p


it can be hidden from view above ground :p
 
This Crystal Maze could be very good! I'm no good at design or building but more than willing to simply harvest the necessary items required for the build.
 
As you might have already seen Screen Shots of my Eden Dome - Im up for helping make the Crystal Maze look good - with attention to detail etc etc.

Im no good with pistons, red stone etc, but I'm a perfectionist lol!

Count me in :p
