If it looks like plugins/bukkit will be a while I may run a vanilla server for a bit and then import the map to be used as per our previous discussions /re maps... hm..

Looks like we are all learning a lot about game development Most studios end up in the same situation hence why there is so much "cut" content or dlc packs soon after launch.

1.8 looks interesting I'm still disappointed in some stuff moving to 1.9 but hey new Minecraft, what is there not to love?! This is probably the biggest update since the nether at least!

I don't think there is much at all in vanilla, I think "ops" can still kick ban etc so we can get rid of trouble makers . Also I'm guessing this will run in tandem with the current server, until bukkit is updated?

Yeah, it would run in tandem...though I'm kind of thinking that it'll be a lot of work for not much gain. I guess I'll assess the Bukkit situation closer to the time.

I thought tp was built-in, but it's a while since ilve been on a vanilla server.

I'm still hoping the bukkit team will get a 1.8 preview very soon, if not already..

Pretty sure that /tp isn't built in. Only very basic stuff for OPs as maxi has mentioned.

I'm not sure that the Bukkit team get that much in the way of previews. Some of their previous updates have suggested that they get extremely short notice whenever there is an upgrade :/

I could do that but it'd require some dedicated time where I can take things apart and the reinstate the data that is needed (all the admin posts, the whitelist data, the group membership, etc).

All in all I'd end up doing a "clean" install only to then muddy it up with a ton of old data, so it kind of seems like we'd end up exactly where we are now.

What Tefal suggested is fine, or feel free to create a new group for yourself. You can go crazy with document creation in that and then just ask us to move documents to the Minecraft group for you.

Mob arena is temporarily disabled due to some issues. It should be back in a couple of days.

It may be that Creative isn't compatible with it. What are people's thoughts about removing it (Creative)?

Nooo! Can access to the mob arena commands not simply be disabled while in the creative world in the same way the /i command only works in the creative world?
