***Official Rift Planes of Telara Thread***

Wish them all the best but it's not going to end well. They leave an active guild with lots of friendly people to make a "hardcore" guild, which means a new strict lifestyle with life leeching routines. All for an MMO...

They should just join the Marines to be honest.

Not right at all, not making a hardcore guild anyway

I understand their frustration (e.g. wiping on a (relatively simple) rift yesterday due to a pretty silly mistake (not waiting for tank to pull).

That is pretty annoying. I don't think it's to become a more 'hardcore' guild, more so a guild which has a more clear focus and for people who have already got a solid understanding of what to do. I might be wrong. Not saying that some in Cov don't but I can see why it happened.

Still, it's a damn shame as I really enjoyed mumble/dungeons with a lot of those guys. :(

(Dominoo in game :) )

I'm sure it wasnt intended this way, but that almost sounds like its suggesting that the rest of us werent "good enough" :)

No, not at all. I thank you all for having me, its just it feels like the WoW dramas all over again - something i wish to leave far behind.

I think the problem is when people put the game above their own personal life, in all fairness. The only MMORPG I ever 'REALLY' enjoyed was Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, now apart from the game being beautiful and fun etc, it had an excellent community. Everyone knew each other and treated there guild mates like family. There was good guild rivalry and infamy was something real and not made up of facts and figures. The main factor in an MMO's success for me is it's community. I really thought Covenant had something good going for it, as there seemed to be a lot of people at different levels, and no matter what we were doing we always had time to have a laugh on Mumble.

Unfortunately it seems a decision was made to cut out the players who haven't reached 50 yet in order to cut out the players who can't abandon there lives for an MMO. The whole guild 'half the guild leaving' thing was unnecessary in my book and everything the elitists wanted they could have done as part of Covenant.

and now to sum up in one sentence... An MMO for me is about the journey and who we share the journey with, and not the just magical staff we get at the end.

So yeh Ardbeg unfortunately the same seems to happen with every MMO I've tried since Vanguard. WOW, WAR, AOC, AION etc.

See you on Battlefield 3 son, I'm gonna end my sub today aswell :D

I had to dash earlier to watch tonights Bones, US office and this weeks episode of game of thrones, has the guild totally disbanded now then ??

No, but there is only like a handful of people left now, and nobody I've ever spoken to in mumble.
I've cancelled my sub now thank God... but I got an email about Star Wars so I might try that when I'm invited.

More than likely though I'll be waiting for 'Tera' which will be something entirely different.

Oh my bad,I misread your post. Star wars I am not sure about, I am quite suspicious that it will contain what I require in an mmo. Tera I've looked at before and it sounds interesting and one I will keep an eye on, in the meantime though I am still enjoying rift, so I'll stick with it until I don't. :)

I ended up cancelling my sub a few days ago too,

Thanks to the people who helped me with quests and thanks to the people I helped with a few quests was nice playing with you :)

Covenant has not disbanded. We have already recruited several mid to high 40's and some low level people. We will aim to carry on doing Rifts/Invasions and T1/T2 content in a social fashion.
So please carry on logging in, onwards and upwards and all that.

So why have you guys all left then? No mention of it on the forum...
Only thing I've heard is that Covenant wasn't hardcore enough for you guys?

To be fair, I was listening to that conversation and it was a case of immovable object meets immovable object.
