lol 16 points thats like WBA against WHU today

Turned it off after 16-0 with 20 to go, Saints where playing well all match, went on facebook was wondering why it was quiet, lol a draw.

It was a great game though and anybody could have nicked it at the end with Eastmond coming close. I dont know about you guys but I thought Eastmond was well off the pace and didnt lead the game as he should. Saying that, Saints were up against quality opposition.

Am looking forward to todays games. Come on Rovers!

Forgot to post my predictions. :)

Warrington
Catalans
Castleford
Wigan
Salford
Leeds
Hull FC

2/7, not bad. :D

Some good games. Shame we didn't get the 2 points but 1 is better than nothing.

Tough trip up to Bradford next. We'll see if their 20,000 season ticket holders turn up. :p

Was a pretty good game, for 65 minutes I thought our defence was fantastic. A draw was probably a fair result, as much as I don't like saying that!

Bet you're happy with the result eh? Another nice game from Mr Dobson, I still think he was as instrumental as Barrett/Fielden in keeping us in Super League.

Can't wait to be stood on the terraces at Bradford next week!

Edit:
On the subject of biscuit ankles, he seems scared to take a tackle meaning he either kicks or passes it. This is an issue as his most effective skill is running with ball in hand and how elusive he is! I think he is off to Union, looks like Sale Sharks. Personally I think if he goes it'll be a mistake and he'll do a Karl Pryce and come back with his tail between his legs. It would be a loss to league, but not the loss that some will have you believe.

I thought Wigan looked okay - but no better than that. If you keep inviting Sts into your 20 with penalties they will eventually score. A better result for them than Wigan.

I had a belting day out down there yesterday. Only got in the stadium for the Wigan game but had a good craic with supporters from all the clubs in the pubs in the city centre. The last pub I was in had the Sts chairman stood outside chatting to fans - wouldn't see that too often in football.

I thought Hull KR looked good this afternoon - I wish we still had Dobson

I agree, it was definitely a point lost, but saints came back well. I assume Joel and Prescott got a right rollocking after the game for the penalties they gave away. Leeds, saints and Warrington are all teams that with a couple of penalties can get a roll on and turn a game round. Leeds showed that today, although I don't agree with the penalty try decision, you could see it coming.

As much as I didn't want to agree, I felt it was definately the correct decision in that case.

I am an extremely happy man today after Rovers result. I thought Ben Galea, Jake Webster (who was well back to his best defensively) and Clint Newton were absolutely outstanding today.

Dobson certainly kicked well but I thought Blake Green did a great job in taking some of the workload off him. We have taken a massive risk each season up until now with a heavy reliance on Dobbo but I feel a little better this season that we have a back-up in Green. The substitutes really helped us today. Scott Wheeldon and Ben Cockayne both had great games when they came on. One thing that Stevo did get 100% right in his commentary was about Cockayne being a bit of a loose cannon, he can win us games but just as easily lose them for us aswell due to his temperment. Full credit to the lad though, he is as passionate a player you will EVER see.

The slight downsides of the result: It was VERY out of character for somebody like Scott Murrell to lose it with Fitzgibbon. I was shocked at that, usually he is such a well manner and rounded bloke and was surprised he lost his rag today. Lucky not to be sent off. Liam Colbon, it seems, has lost his ability to catch high balls but he had a good game overall and reprieved himself by knocking Turner into touch on the breakaway.

I will admit though, I was slightly bricking it after the first 15 minutes!!!

Can't wait to be stood on the terraces at Warrington next Sunday afternoon! The injuries may help Rovers a bit, but Warrington are a quality side and still pose as big a threat as any whoever they put on the pitch. King's injury did look bad at first but he was out on the bench watching the game in the second half. I feel if it were really serious he would have zipped straight off to hospital. Did look bad at the time though.

I am trying not to read too much into it, but despite all their signings, Salford were pretty poor today. Their penalty count will trouble Shaun McRae, they had Cashmere and Nero yellow carded. They just looked terribly disjointed and IF today was anything to go by, they will take a couple of months before they finally gel together as a team, at least a couple of months.

Don't say I never told you all so! They will probably pick up a bit in the later half of the season once they start to gel.

I was still impressed with Wigan but equally so with Saints. Both will occupy the top two spots this year (except tonight of course, as Rovers are there!).

Nice to see Josh Charnley is getting a look in now, something I feel will be a lot more frequent throughout this season. He is a fantastic young player.

Well, I'm not gonna write anymore, until I calm down. Memories of 2007 spring to mind.

Bradford looked a much better side than last year though so I think you will be in for a much better year. Leeds are Leeds though and they did what they do best. I would have no fears for Bradford this season if I were you though.

One final note though, I thought Huddersfield were the team of the weekend. They look absolutely top notch this season. They have done us both times for the last two years and it won't be any easier to break that this year.

First time I've ever heard that... :o
Haha I'll be honest, as I'm only twenty I only got to a couple of games at central park, but I love the atmosphere of standing in a group of your own fans. There's just something about the old grounds and for that reason I'll miss Knowsley road.

I'm afraid I just can't see past his thuggish behaviour off the pitch :/

As for Charnley, he is a fantastic young player and I thought he was really impressive on Saturday!

Hudds played well, but they did last year. Warrington for me were poor, but still it took a good hudds performance to beat them. If Danny Brough can perform like that every week they'll be challenging!

Hull FC have signed Sam Obst from Wakefield. That is a terrific signing for them. If he was playing for them yesterday I would imagine he would have made a difference for FC (not enough though!!! :D). Obst is a much better signing for them than Westerman and surely Wakefield are pretty good favourites for the wooden spoon this year now they have lost another key player.

Anyone got the latest goss on the Wires injuries?

Obst is a good signing, but like you say it highlights how much trouble Wakey are in. Didn't think they were too bad on Sat, but they weren't good. I think it can only get worse for them i'm afraid.

Great result for Rovers this weekend. I can't think of anything better than beating Hull in round 1!

Lima called up for two tackles. Apparently, one was reported to the ref by Jon Wilkin. I haven't seen the Sky replay - how did they look? I'm not in favour of cheap shots etc, but I'm not sure about going to the ref for something like that.

I'd rather Scott Murrell had gone to the ref if he thought Fitzgibbon was committing a misdemeanor than trying to batter ten bells out of him. Silly from Scotty there and most uncharacteristic of him. He's a real nice lad but let himself down as he doesn't usually get involved in stuff like that.

I can't remember the specific challenge, but I think maybe one of Lima's offences was for a chicken wing tackle, but I can't recall correctly. I may be wrong on that.

As far as I'm aware both are chicken wings. The one reported by wilkin was an absolute farce, all Lima did was grab his arm. The rfl should have a word with wilkin for disrupting the game in my opinion, made himself look pretty soft.

The other was on Soliola, maybe around the 15 min mark. When i saw it i thought he'd get called up for it. I think he may get a game ban, although with it being his first competitive uk game maybe a warning would suffice. Just hope he's ok for the wcc, saying that, the way Bradford played we will need him on Sunday.

Fair enough - still haven't seen it on TV. It's the whining to the ref I can't get my head round. He'll be waving imaginary cards at the ref next.

I didn't even know players who aren't the captain could do that. Lockers reaction was pretty on the money I thought :D

I saw it before in last seasons playoff game against fc. Murrell went up to the ref and claimed an fc player had bitten him and it was put on report. Nothing ever came of it though.

Some rumours are around that Mason may sign for Cronula instead...not sure how reliable it is though...
