****Official SFL (diddy) League 2012 - 13****

should be a straight forward game for thistle. Dumbarton were decent enough last season after a shaky start but think thistle have been around enough in the first to edge the tie.

Well, Brechin got a good result and looked fairly comfortable yesterday. Very attacking from the whistle. Grabbed two goals in the 11th and 13th minute, Andy Jackson with them both. He looks like a great signing for the Second Division and would probably see him moving onto a higher division next season. East Fife grabbed a goal back later on in the second half but didn't look up to much on the whole. I would see them improving over the season though. I just hope that Brechin can maintain some momentum over the next few games despite all the injuries. Only two subs were warming up at half time and Garry Brady took a heavy knock in the second half which could add to our injury worries.

Berwick robbed of three points against Rangers today after a late goal disallowed for a foul. Surprise surprise media starting to talk about Ally McCoist's job after only two league games.

Indeed - was a perfectly good goal - what a great game to watch (unless you are a Rangers fan I am sure).

Gotta feel for Berwick tho - a deserved home win was snatched away unfairly.

they've played 3 ;) and yeah cant imagine why they'd be on his back with a full time team getting paid thousands of pounds a week who cant beat a part time team on a couple of hundred quid a week each ;)

Isn't McCoist part owner of Rangers now? I believe he owns 4.5%

Indeed but they should have been playing the majority of the game with ten men but didnt.

Poor ref for both teams.

Shocking display from Rangers however. Not helped by playing 2 CB as your left and right back. Meant there was no width and it showed as we played very narrow.

Big Rangers cheated out of win against the wee Rangers :p

Poor result, poor team, poor team selection. McCoist sums it up perfectly - "embarrassing"

Annoyed at going out in the cup last night as Hamilton's keeper played very well and they scored a 35-yard screamer in extra time. Hopefully revenge in the league on Saturday but at least I can laugh at the SPL teams. :p

Thursday night game. So hardly surprising. Still think it was a bigger gate than every other cup game combined managed this week.

26450 vrs 15509.

How many turned out at your Cup game Derek? ;)

So 24000 walked away? Must be the novelty factor disappearing. Or maybe they were all marching to Hampden to protest at the charges against McCoist and Green :)

Brechin will be looking to continue from the 2 - 1 win against East Fife last week with a positive result against Second Division new boys Alloa. The injury list from last week has Gerry McLauchlan now added to it with a reoccurance of his knee injury. Jim Weir was looking to bring in a couple of faces on loan but that doesn't appear to have materialised. A defensive reshuffle will be in order with the remainder of the team the same as last week.
Alloa took a two goal lead last week against Arbroath only to lose 3 - 2 so they will be looking to improve on that. Tough game ahead today, would predict a scoring draw.

Tough game tomorrow for us against the table toppers Elgin. I've heard they have a 6ft 10 inch striker. That will cause problems for the defence however if our home form continues that should be enough to see the three point safe.
