******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Starmap replacement - that's better, would be warmly welcome. Drives me bonkers lol

I'd really, really like the ability to favourite locations so you can build trade routes etc.

I'm not putting dates on anything with Squadron 42, all it takes is for Chris Roberts to decide to put in another feature and we're pushed back another year :) fingers crossed it's 2025.

I'm unlikely to be on for the Friday night session by the way - family stuff is happening, I'll be around at the weekend though.

I gave up with HOTAS as I'd spend ages sorting it out only to then crew a ship for the next month and not need it !

It can add massively to immersion though, I do miss it at times but keyboard/mouse are just reliable as heck.

Stations were never intended in the game to be player owned - but that was years ago. I suspect things will have changed by now.

Interestingly they haven't sold land beacon claims for many years and only did it once I think (2017?) so perhaps still mulling over how they'd do it. Obviously it may be a case of them wanting it all to be bought in-game although given how money hungry they are I'd be surprised if that was the case.

I found it introduced micro-stutter, although that could easily have been one of the million other settings on AMD drivers. I just find turning it off is smoother for me personally.

Downloading the free fly event its taking ages any must know tips for new players?

Take your time.
You will get lost, you will crash, you will die through no fault of your own etc.
The learning curve of the game is a bit like Eve Online in that it looks easy until you start to play, then you realise it's complicated and you've only just scratched the surface.

If at all possible play with someone else ASAP, ideally someone who can guide you for the first hour or so and show you some of the things you can do. Some you'll like, some you'll find boring, others you'll just want to go do yourself.

tutorial done

I know its Alpha but the tutorial could have been better, it was not easy to follow
the blue nav you need to follow around sometimes you just cant find it/see it, really frustrating

i don't like burdening you guys to help me get to grips with this game but feel free to add me if you want another member on your friends lists

SC name is my forum name
Thanks

I did it recently too, think i commented to a few people that if I hadn't known where to go I'd have been completely lost wandering around Area 18. I agree it's not up to scratch, some of it's OK - but it feels as if the feedback from evocati hasn't been actioned.

VKB pedals are nice, I had a pair for a few years. Very smooth action, CAM you can flip to change it's function, secondary springs you can replace if you want to make it more stiff/loosen it. The all metal fabrication made them premium. I sold them last year but tbh they were still mint condition.
