******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Spent the morning and yesterday evening giving it another bash and i gotta say its so much better than my last try.

Haulage is much more clear on what to do and it seems they have incorporated quite abit of hand holding throughout too.

Still the odd bugs especially with elevators!

Also to note, i'm glad they finally fixed vehicles being left in ships to spawn with your ship exactly where you last left it! My Mule comfortably sits in my Zeus MK2 CL now!

so yet more stuff that wasn't in the kickstarter we backed 13 years ago.

Can't believe it's been that long. I've jumped in and out of this game more times than i can count. Hopefully 1.0 will have a majority of the bugs fixed.

The current hangar bug is really annoying where your ship doesn't spawn properly or at all then you have to claim and expedite it.

The Kickstarter would have given you Starfield. I'm not saying that to be a ***** its just the truth and i don't think it would have been worth it.

Crafting and Base Building is what this game needs, it adds purpose to it, a long term reason to play it.

Even starfield has crafting and base building...

Pretty much every MMO has some form of crafting and now some now contain base building to some degree.

Heck even WOW now has homesteads and even Guild Wars 2. Both decade old games

Not sure the Kickstarter would ever cover what they wanted to keep doing and expanding on and we've known about crafting for years now so not like this was added as a surprise.

For open world and MMO games crafting and base building are generally the reason to play other loops of the game at all. That is no surprise that is here as well.

If you took exactly what the Kickstarter said though you'd have less than starfield even which isn't a good level to compare against. There is not even enough written in the original Kickstarter and what it would have to make a basic game as it was bullet points of direction they wanted. Seems odd to say this and that wasn't exactly listed out.

I've not been playing much recently but really need to get back into the swing of things. There's a load of neat missions / things to do currently from what I'm being told. Still not done a proper ASD facility run.

Looks like patch is coming today!

Even though servers are still live, you can't really do anything currently! None of the store terminals are working and inventory seems abit glitchy too.

So the same as the past 10 years then :)

Not trying to discourage but by this point the basics should be rock solid, alpha or not. They should be deep into QoL patching. Let's hope SQ42 comes out soon, I need a game as I'm running out of stuff to do on Cyberpunk on after my 4th playthrough!

I absolutely agree with you on this one.

So many basic ease of life things should be fixed by now and they're not! I'm currently back in game on 4.6 and its running abit smoother but yet to test out terminals etc.

Ship spawning bugs were my biggest pet peeve, it wasted so much time having to spawn then despawn and repeat.

Too late! :p
Yeah, it was up here for long enough for people to read it, i was not ninja enough :o

I had both a Star Citizen tab and the Trump Presidency II tab open, what i posted was meant for the latter, which is where it now is.

The problem they have is nothing basic is finished. They are still working on it all which is why 1.0 is half a decade away at least. They are chaging their LTP side again with it being reworked for the 4th time in the last almost decade since they started trying to get it to work. They still haven't finished server meshing off to really move forward and they seem to be reworking lighting, physics and their full sound suite of software to write new code for all of them so until all that is done then everything is on this broken base layer of code held together by ripped gaffa tape.

As and when they get all that updated in years to come then anything really QoL might start happening.

Got lucky today! Managed to find a decent player who helped me with Ruin Station as it was full of Rats camping the comp boards!

Then solo'd the Executive Hangar and luckily nobody was about so managed a free run with some decent ship component loot too! Got myself the Executive Syulen!

What a blast!

I still feel the thing they're missing, is a good combat flight system. Everything else follows that. They are working on one but it'll be what, the fourth one they've tried. Most of the systems (fps, crafting etc.) will be fine when they're all in together and server / fps performance improves. If they don't get space flight and combat dialled in, that's game over.
