Still a **** take then

54 - Cesc Fabregas has made the most assists in the top 5 European leagues over the last 5 seasons, ahead of D Alves & F Lampard. Gunner.

Cesc Fabregas created a scoring chance on avg every 29 minutes from open play, a better rate than any player in the top 5 European leagues.

£35m? foad please. Literally the single best player in Europe at making chances and he's still not hit his peak. He also scored 19 times last season.

Could really be seen as what a 1 man team arsenal are or wasteful for that matter. Any news on the gk/cb? Would lol so hard if arsenal lost thier first game due to a gk error

Christian Poulsen's agent has said that he expects Poulsen to be a Liverpool player within the week. Hodgson's also spoke about the deal and said that he'd like to sign Poulsen if the price was right. Can't see anything happening until Masch joins Inter though and reportedly that's dependent on City signing Balotelli. The fee is being reported as anything from £4m to £6m.

With Gerrard likely to be playing more as a CM this season, I'd imagine a signing like Poulsen would be nothing more than cover. Hopefully the difference between Masch and Poulsen's fees will go towards a striker.

so about tuppence ha'penny then :)

In all seriousness £10 - £14m difference or there abouts (mind you Masch just signed a new deal recently didnt he)?

No he didn't but he's not likely to leave for less than £25m which would leave you with somewhere in the region of £20m after Poulsen.

God knows whether that all that money will be allowed to be spent or how many players it will be used to sign.

Thats all well and good, but how many times can you promise a player if he stays one more year we'll improve and buy players(we conned Fab, RVP and Gallas into new contracts a couple years back with that utter pile of crap).

If we fail for YET another year, don't you think we're basically just pushing our luck till Fabregas officially publically asks for a transfer fee, makes it clear he won't play for ARsenal again and we end up taking half the cash for him.

Promising a player "stay another year, you'll see the massive change, and if you do stay, we'll let you go easier next year, because thats how nice we are", because Wenger delusionally thinks those extra years really will see a massive change, then we let Vieira and Henry and in a year Fabregas walk out for half what they are worth, yes I'm ridiculously happy that we bribed another want away player, who deserves better, to stay and will likely let them walk out for cheap next year.

All because every single year Wenger thinks the youth will finally come good, despite obviously exactly no signs of that at all.

Remember, Fabregas could have easily gone for £40-45mil this year, Barca OFFERED 35, but were expecting to be rebuffed, if Wenger publically said £45mil and he's yours, they'd come up with the cash, its Spanish football ffs, they'd just get another loan.

Next year Fabregas will say he's off, Barca will say they aren't paying a penny over £20mil, and thats what we'll get. I love Fabregas, he's the best player Arsenal have by a MASSIVE margin, but we ain't winning anything this year and 25mil more to get in replacements is better than not having 25mil, its horrible horrible business, and Wenger makes this mistake every couple years now.

Remember how end of the season he said, we need a keeper, we need defenders, we need to IMPROVE. SO far we've lost 3 defenders, bought 1, no keeper. We're weaker than last year and the season just over a week away, yet the idiot thinks Fabregas will be swayed to stay because we'll win something this year?

So the prediction would be, March at the latest, probably late jan/early feb Vermaelen will be injured, Kos will be injured, Song and Djourou in defence, Denilson and Diaby in midfield, we'll crash out of all the cups again, and loss any slightly difficult game till the end of the season, at which point Wenger will say we need a keeper and a couple defenders, and next summer he'll buy one replacement for 2 who leave.

We'll also have 2 strikers injured for half the year and rather than play reserve strikers he'll decide they aren't match fit and play Arshavin upfront on his own, genius.

Why is DM insisting Cesc will leave for 1/2 price? I don't understand...

Because if they win nothing he will put in a request to leave. You wouldn't have the same bargaining power as this year were he was in two minds. It will not be as bad as half. But if arsenal over price him he'll just ride the bench will suspect injuries and the likes, then you'll have your a guy on a high wage doing nothing. I think they should have sold he for £35mil. Then again the prophecy of the young ones might true

At least the most boring and pointless 'saga' of the summer is over. Anybody with any sense knew it was over as soon as Arsenal released a statement all those weeks ago, the papers are seriously mongy though and the mongy readers needed something to **** out about

Same as anyone with any sense know that Arsenal have got Csec to agree to stay for 1 more season and then go with his blessing next year

Enjoy him while you can ;)

you saying hes done a ronaldo?

Exactamondo

I can understand how the Arsenal fans wont believe it as I didn't when it was Ronaldo but it's playing out exactly the same

Arsenal are just making a point that they wont be bullied into selling like we did when we made Ronaldo stay around for another year but fact is in hindsight we were never going to keep hold of him same as Arsenal wont with Fabregas

Should have just sold him this summer tbh, he wont be the same player this season
