There's 1 huge difference (well 2, Ronaldo acted like a ****) between the Ronaldo situation and Fabregas'; Real had the money and were willing to spend it on Ronaldo where as there are doubts over whether Barca have the money or whether they're willing to pay the sort of fee Arsenal will want.

While it's plausible that Fabregas will be allowed to leave next summer, it's far from certain.

Don't get to hung up about barca's money troubles, they will always get the cash. They still have that assest which is getting a proper shirt sponser. The are aswell reports from spain that the new club directors have have done some poor accounting.

In fairness to him, he always came across as a tit, but he maximised the amount of cash we got from him, which was nice.

Yet they were only willing or capable to offer £35m for Fabregas. Everybody knows that was never going to be nearly enough to get him and it's not likely to be next summer too.

Fabregas has got plenty of time on his contract, Arsenal don't need to sell and Fabregas isn't likely to kick up a fuss.

They didn't even offer £35m. Only £33m, Barca have blamed Arsenal. Surely they are the only ones to blame for not offering enough money and dragging the transfer through the Press.

When you're paying him ~£100k per week and he's saying he's being treated like a slave, I'd call that acting like a ****.

He never actually said that, all he eluded to is that he agreed with Blatter who said we should sell him to Real Madrid and even then he ended up denying saying anything

Like Sham said no United fans I know hold anything against him, he's arguably the best player to ever play for us and won us pretty much everything there is to win, still a United legend imo

With Gerrard likely to be playing more as a CM this season, I'd imagine a signing like Poulsen would be nothing more than cover. Hopefully the difference between Masch and Poulsen's fees will go towards a striker.

I agree (though personally I dont want Poulsen anyway, but thats a different subject :) ) , certainly would like to see that difference going towards another striker.

Whether Blatter denied the comment or not, Ronaldo was asked if he agreed with the comment (denied or not) and he did. He said you were treating him like a slave.

Whether you wished him the best when he left or not, he still acted like a **** :p

Blatter didn't deny the comment, Ronnie did; he denied commenting on it at all

SKY LIES! IT'S A TARP! ;)

Even so, I don't hold anything against him really, he won everything for us, and was always honest in saying his dream was to play for Real, so you can't blame him. The same I imagine will go for Fabregas when he leaves, Arsenal fans can't be bitter considering how well he's played for them (even though they haven't won anything).

Think most Arsenal fans know or have known for a while not that he would be going this summer or next. The only thing that could hitch that is that Barca seem to refuse flat out to pay what Arsenal want, on their statement today they even went so far as to clarify they never bid over 40m euros, and while that's a boat load of money, it just isn't enough to make it worth losing such a good player.

Unless Barca bid £40m or above I can see this ending messily, even though I think Arsenal are willing to let him go, it has to be at the right price. Players that good come through your club so rarely, and are irreplaceable, so you need proper compensation.

Also, the main reason he didn't go this summer is because Barca just didn't bid enough, it doesn't have much to do with Wenger feeling bullied, I do think that if they'd offered £50m he'd probably have left. Also you have to consider that Arsenal need sufficient time to find replacements and that shouldn't be done in a hurried fashion over a few weeks

I actually think Wenger knew this scenario would crop up a few years ago - that's why he brought in Ramsey, Nasri, and fast-tracked Wilshire. As demonstrated in pre-season, I think they are capable enough to replace Fabregas.

Maybe in the long run, way too short this season. It's optimistic to think they'd be ready in a year, but maybe with another midfielder bought when he goes they would cope

Give up BaZ.

The very big difference here is that Ronaldo won the lot while at Utd and went with most Utd' fans blessings. He had nothing left to prove or win for that matter. A lot of quotes attributed to him were without much foundation.

Why is DM insisting Cesc will leave for 1/2 price? I don't understand...

Because he is a secret Utd supporter :p

He certainly has nothing good to say about Arsenal.

Whenever Eboue leaves us then he wont be interested at all in Arsenal and we would have to listen to his same old "Arsenal arent going to win anything this year" rubbish.

I just wish he would get a new message to put across. He repeats the same rubbish over and over again. Boring....
